Beauty handbook
- It takes quite a lot to steel the spotlight from The Boss.
- But since Bruce Springsteen´s Dancing in the Dark video, Courteney Cox has been grabbing attention in situations where others wouldn't.
- Michael J. Fox´psycho-major girlfriend on Family Ties. Jim Carry´s employer in the first Ace Ventura.
- This was all before she was cast as Monica, the unofficial but undisputed star of the hit TV show Friends.
- But rather than bask in the limelight, Cox urged her cast pals to remain team players.
- "It was important to let them know I was there to make the show better," she says. "This wasn´t a competition." Spoken like a true friend.
Her first career, modeling:
Thank God, I started acting, because I´d never had made it as a model. I was short, had baby fat, and didn´t have attitude. Acting is a high for me. And when it´s over, I want to eat a million candy bars.Tabloid rumors of her bulimia:
I could´t make myself throw up if i tried.Beauty routine: I only have to do three things to look halfway decent. Curl my eyelashes, fill in my eyebrows and put some lipstick on. Now I have to put on makeup and stuff when I go out. I can be a real slob. I´m worried people will say: "She´s that beautiful girl? How gross!"
Exercise: I take classes in power yoga. It tones and elongates every muscle.
Monica VS. Courteney: Monica likes to take care of people. I tend to-well, I hate to say mother because it sounds so annoying-but I do that too. She´s just very neat and so am I. And a little sarcastic. So I´m like Monica. Big whoop.
Friends: Friends and family are very important. When I was in New York, like Monica, I lived in an apartment with my best friend. In Los Angeles, my friends have to drive to my house. But that´s the only difference.
Her TV friends on Friends: You know, I´d never let let those people hang out in my house.
The end of her 6-year romance with Michael Keaton: It´s the most important relationship I´ve ever had, and I think he´s the most wonderful person I´ve ever met. We still love each other.
Filling the gap in her love life: I´m not even thinking about that stuff now. I don´t have a soap opera life.
