Roger Rose interviews Courteney Cox
RR: Okay. You play me. If I was Marv Albert, I'd be in a dress. How do you do me? You're a reporter in this film. Did you study certain reporters or certain habits we have?
Courtney Cox: Not really. For the first Scream, when you watch television and see the tabloid journalist, it's very easy to imitate.
RR: How is that? What is that?
CC: Just, it doesn't matter what the story is. It's always said with a smile. Everything is just so exciting. And for Scream 2, she's a producer now. She's just a little cooler and more confident. It was really fun to play that character. I enjoyed it a lot.
RR: Now you mentioned hair. The cast of Friends and everything is about the hairstyles. Isn't that a little annoying that you can't go out with you hair in curlers without it being a style thing?
CC: Of course, on the show, we're going to try to look the best we can. I mean, we're on television.Yes, we're six people in an apartment, but we want to look alright, because people are going to see us. In this movie, I don't think people will want to take my style and copy it, because Gale Weather goes a little over the top. She tried to be hip but didn't quite get it. She put in too many streaks, or it's too red, but that's her.
RR: Ace Ventura, Friends, this movie, each of these projects started out with no one really having high expectations. "Maybe it will do well." You're like this good luck charm.
CC: I'm starting to think that. I don't know but I do know that I don't hurt a project. I don't say that I make it, but I know I don't hurt it.
