Ingredients:
3 cups uncooked rice (preferably Japanese rice)
1 carrot
1/2 taro
30 grams or 1 can of green peas
100 grams chicken meat
2 cups broth / soupstock (seafood broth, beef broth, or chicken broth will do)
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. rice wine / sake
1 tsp. soy sauce
Procedure:
1. Slice the carrots and taro into strips the size of match sticks.
Cook in a saucepan with boiling water. Cut the chicken into rectangular
strips. If using canned peas, drain the peas of excess water using a
strainer.
2. Simmer the broth in a pot. Except for the peas, add the
all the ingredients from step one into the broth. Add brown sugar,
rice wine, and soy sauce while stirring constantly.
3. After the ingredients are cooked, put it in the rice cooker together
with the uncooked rice. Make sure to add the appropriate amount of water for
the uncooked rice.
4. After the rice is cooked, add the green peas and steam once again.
5. After steaming, mold / shape the rice into the desired shape.
