A Virtual Visit Chez Xorys - Page 3

OK, now for a sweep round the wall, starting behind the TV, and going round the far corner of the room (relative to where I sit at the computer). You can see some of the same 8x10's and Hindi film pics you saw before behind the TV here, and above them is the 'Xena and Gabby wet' poster from Altared States. To the left of that are the two American Library Association posters, of Gab and Xena... they're nice... but I had to special-order them from the ALA, and by the time they shipped them and I got hit for duty and brokerage (I live in Canada) - they turned out to be *expensive* posters! In case you're wondering about the bits at the top - they're mostly photographs I took (through a telescope etc.) of galaxies and nebulae, although the white one is a piece of Arabic calligraphy.

And moving on to the left, now you can see the Xena ALA poster better. It is nice, isn't it? I got a bunch of their Xena bookmarks too (alas I didn't get the Gab ones, because they only started making those later, and after all the trouble I had getting the first order, I didn't have the heart to try and order from the ALA again). To the left of that is my prized chrome print of Gabrielle, Amazon Queen, proudly (if somewhat ostentatiously) framed. The little pic below Gabby (looks like a ball) is actually Jupiter - the planet, not the deity.

And moving farther round again, there's a Xena poster that came in an issue of Starlog, a poster of Xena and Gab from one of the Topps Xena mags, and a portrait poster of Xena, which was one of the first posters you could get, I believe. You can see bits of some more deep space pics and some more Hindi film stars above.

Continuing to pan around, there are two more fold-out posters from the Topps magazines, then Xena from the staff-fight in Sins Of The Past - probably the most widely used publicity shot of all. You can see an 8x10 shot of Mel with the chakram at the bottom. And at the bottom left, you can see some of my flutes.

And this completes the sweep (I ran out of wall-space - that's the furnace-room door on the left). Flutes, and a *lot* of junk at the bottom (I tried not to show too much of the general untidiness in these pics - housekeeping is *not* my strong suit). A poster of one of the 'sepia pics' of Xena on the left. To the right of that is another my efforts at painting... I had fun, but eventually faced up to the fact I was battling a total lack of natural aptitude. This one was an attempt to capture a canal in Venice, a city I must admit I love, even if it is more or less a festering museum (and it certainly does smell pretty bad much of the time...)
