Jennifer Aniston, real name Jennifer Anistonapoulos, (her Grandfather changed the name after visiting the American town of Anniston) was born on 11 February 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA. She spent a year of her childhood living in Greece with her family, before they relocated to New York, where she spent the rest of her childhood. When Jennifer was 9 her parents divorced and she lived with her mother. Her father John, an actor, had a role on Days of Our Lives as Victor Kiriakis at this time.

Jennifer was around acting a lot in her childhood (her godfather was Telly Savalas) and first acted herself at age 11 in the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club, where she also developed a passion for art.

Jennifer began her professional training at New York's High School for the Performing Arts, and after graduation in 1987, she appeared in off-Broadway productions such as For Dear Life and Dancing on Checker's Grave before her first TV role in Molloy. She subsequently appeared in The Edge, Ferris Bueller, and Herman's Head, among others (all TV shows)

Despite these TV appearances her career was struggling somewhat by 1993. Then, in 1994, a pilot called "Friends Like These" came along. Jennifer refused to audition for the part of Monica, instead auditioning for the role of Rachel Green. With the phenomenal success of the Friends, Jennifer has become famous and sought-after.

She stars in the feature film She's the One directed by Ed Burns and co-starring Maxine Bahns and Cameron Diaz, and also the upcoming 'Til There Was You. She recently completed production on the romantic comedy Picture Perfect, also starring Kevin Bacon. Additionally, Aniston starred with Quentin Tarantino in an interactive tutorial CD-ROM directed by Steven Spielberg, titled Movie Maker.

Currently Jennifer is filming The Object Of My Affection, a movie starring Alan Alda. She will also start filming the fourth series of Friends this summer.

Jennifer still spends much time on art projects (at age 11, one of her paintings was selected for display in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art), including charcoal drawings, clay sculptures, and paintings. Her other interests include hiking, camping, and getting closer to nature. Jennifer Aniston is 5' 5" tall and currently lives in Los Angeles.
