In The Princess Bride, Cary Elwes plays Westley, a farm worker on Buttercup's father's farm. Over time, the two fall in love, and Westley temporarily leaves to seek his fortune. Unfortunately, while on his trip to America, the ship is attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Buttercup (Robin Wright- later Penn), knowing well that Dread Pirate Roberts "takes no prisoners" is left to believe her sweet Westley is gone forever.
