Bobbie Eakes (ex-Macy)
Bobbie Eakes joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as Macy Alexander in April 1989.
Bobbie has been able to explore a character battling a myriad of problems, including a tumultuous mother-daughter relationship, alcoholism, and throat cancer, while always struggling to find happiness with the love of her life, Thorne Forrester, now being played by Winsor Harmon. In 1998, she earned the Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
The youngest of five daughters born to an Air Force family in Warner Robins, Georgia, Bobbie began her entertainment career as a young girl performing as part of her sisters' singing group. She joined her first professional band at the age of 16 as the lead singer in a traditional country and blue grass band near Macon, Georgia.
Later, following in her sisters' footsteps, Bobbie competed in the Miss Georgia Pageant. She was the second sister in the family to win the title of Miss Georgia and emerged from the Miss America Pageant as a Top Ten Finalist.
She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her musical career. She sang with various Los Angeles based bands and back up on albums and in concert with Eddie Money before signing with Epic Records to record her first album entitled "Big Trouble," produced by Grammy and Oscar winner, Giorgio Moroder.
While promoting the album, Bobbie appeared on American Bandstand, was a guest VeeJay on MTV, and performed in venues across the U.S. and in Europe including the Montreux Pop Festival in Switzerland.
It was during this time that Bobbie began building her television credits with guest roles on Cheers, Jake and the Fatman, Matlock, Full House, and 21 Jumpstreet, to name a few.
While portraying Macy on The Bold and the Beautiful, Bobbie has added theater to her credits with the title role in the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella at Hollywood's Pantages Theater with Steve Allen, Jayne Meadows, Rose Marie and Jeff Trachta, and the lead role in Love Letters at the Cannon Theater in Los Angeles.
Bobbie, who recently guest starred in an episode of Land's End, currently can be seen in a few national commercials and is also enjoying the European double-platinum success of her CD, "Bold & Beautiful Duets" recorded with Jeff Trachta. Bobbie and Jeff completed the follow-up CD, which was released in Europe the fall of 1996.
As a solo artist, Bobbie performed at the 1996 Starfest, alongside such country singers as Billy Ray Cyrus, Tammy Wynette, and Martina McBride and is about to release her first solo album in the United States.
Bobbie lives in suburban Los Angeles with her husband, writer David Steen, and her cat Elvis. She celebrates her birthday on July 25th, stands 5' 4" and has brown hair and brown eyes.
