Laura Bryan Birn (Lynne Bassett)
Laura Bryan Birn joined The Young and the Restless in February 1988 as Lynne Bassett, the devoted secretary at Paul Williams Investigations. Her father, Jerry Birn, joined The Young and the Restless just a year earlier as a staff writer in August 1987.
While maintaining a demanding daytime schedule, Laura has appeared in the feature film Risky Business and the made-for-television movie Hot Times at Montclair High. She was a guest host on the fitness show Bermuda Sunrise. Her theater credits include regional productions of A Chorus Line, Evita, Vanities, Crimes of the Heart and ER.
Laura was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Darien, Connecticut, where she remained until her teenage years when the family returned to Chicago. She began appearing in productions of several plays while a student at New Trier High School.
Laura was accepted into the highly competitive and elite Northwestern summer theater program and later attended the University of Southern California's acting conservatory program, from which she received a BFA in drama. She made her television debut on The Young and the Restless shortly after graduation.
Laura is married to business executive Mitch Sebolsky. She enjoys all sports, both as a fan and participant. She also continues to study voice and dance.
Laura stands 5' 6" and has auburn hair and green eyes. Her birthday is April 3.
