Magaly Colimon (Ruth Lockhart)
Magaly Colimon first appeared on Guiding Light in November 1999 as Ruth Lockhart, a hotel maid blackmailed by Mafia boss Carmen Santos. Ruth played a pivotal role in a murder trial that almost cost her her son, but which also brought her into the life of policeman David Grant.
New to daytime television, Colimon has appeared on episodes of Law & Order and Spin City. She has appeared Off-Broadway in Exhibit #9, the Public Theater's Taming of the Shrew and A Dream of Wealth, and in regional productions of Lost Creek Township at Crossroads Theatre; Midsummer Night's Dream at the Yale Rep Theater; We Miss You Stink at the Eugene O'Neill Center; and For Colored Girls... at the Steppenwolf Theatre.
Colimon received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Columbia University and earned her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Yale School of Drama. She recently completed research on Black and Asian theater in London with a grant from the Fox Foundation.
In her spare time, Colimon enjoys playwriting and hopes to produce theater. She also enjoys fencing, tennis and spending time with her family. Her birthday is January 10.
