Christopher  Goutman (Executive  Producer)
Christopher Goutman was named Executive Producer of As the World Turns, the CBS daytime drama, on June 7, 1999. He previously served in the same capacity for NBC's Another World for eight months prior to the show's cancellation.
Goutman began his career as an actor, and was a director in daytime television for seventeen years, several of them with As the World Turns, where his work received a Directors Guild of America nomination, and Another World. He has received numerous Emmy nominations for directing and took home the trophy for his work on All My Children in 1994.
In addition to his daytime experience, Goutman wrote, produced and directed a short film, The Square Root of Three, which received international exposure on the independent film circuit. He has also directed several plays as well as an award-winning commercial for the late Paul Tsongas' 1992 Presidential campaign. Channel View, a play he wrote, was produced by LA Stage and Film Company in 1994.
Earlier in his career, Goutman distinguished himself as an actor. On television, he had roles on the daytime dramas Search for Tomorrow, Edge of Night and Texas. He also appeared on film and on stage, where he was honored with a Theater World Award in 1978.
Goutman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford College and a Masters of Fine Arts in directing from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has taught extensively at New York University, Weist Barron and 3 of Us Studios.
Goutman resides in Manhattan with his wife, actress Marcia McCabe, and two children, Yvonne and Nicholas.
