Beth Ehlers (Harley Spaulding)
Three-time Daytime Emmy award nominee Beth Ehlers rejoined the cast of GUIDING LIGHT in May 1997 in the role of Harley Davidson Cooper, which she had previously played from September 1987 to September 1993.
Beth was born in Queens and raised on Long Island until the age of nine. She moved to Roosevelt Island and attended Manhattan’s Satellite Academy, where she concentrated on pursuing an acting career. After a year at Syracuse University, Beth was offered the role of Harley on GL.
During her hiatus from the show, Beth worked in Los Angeles as a production assistant on commercials and music videos. After a brief return to GUIDING LIGHT for the show’s 60th anniversary celebration in January 1997, Beth was asked to return to the show on a permanent basis.
Beth has done a variety of television and radio commercials and numerous voice-overs. Film credits include The Hunger with David Bowie and Hiding Out with Jon Cryer.
Television appearances include Family Reunion with Bette Davis, In Defense of Kids with Blythe Danner and Sam Waterson, Mother May I on PBS, and CBS-TV’s Mystery on Fire Island. She was a series regular on the NBC show Best Times.
Beth and her husband, Matthew, a sports video editor, were married on March 22, 1996. They have two sons, Henry Jack (b. 5/21/1999) and Will (b. 7/16/2001). The family resides in New Jersey with their cat, Molly. Beth's birthday is July 23.
