Laura  Wright (Princess  Cassandra "Cassie" Layne  Winslow) - ADDED  PICTURES
Laura Wright made her debut on Guiding Light on August 1, 1997 in the newly created role of Cassandra Layne, a tough, street-smart woman who turned out to be Reva Shayne's (Kim Zimmer) long-lost sister.
Prior to joining the show, Laura portrayed the character of Ally Rescott Bowman for four years, first on the daytime drama Loving, and then on its spin-off, The City.
Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Clinton, Maryland, Laura first considered becoming an actress when she was in the eighth grade. In high school, she appeared in several plays, including Gypsy, Our Town, and You Can’t Take it with You; directed a production of Father Says No; and later appeared in a few local commercials and numerous fashion shows.
But it was not until a theatrical agent in Maryland persuaded her to audition for Loving that she began to seriously think about pursuing an acting career. To her great surprise, she won the role of Ally.
Laura's husband, John, is an architect. They have two children Lauren (b. 11/16/1998) and John Michael (b. 12/21/2000). A sports enthusiast, Laura enjoys playing basketball, softball, rollerblading and kickboxing. Her birthday is September 11.
