Kate Linder joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in November 1985 as Esther Valentine, confidant and housekeeper to Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
Additional television credits include roles on Bay City Blues, Archie Bunker's Place and Dream Girl. She also appeared in the feature film Rocky III, as well as in the play Bee Luther Hatchee.
Kate attended San Francisco State University and graduated with a BA in theater arts.
She is active with Big Sisters of Los Angeles and Love is Feeding Everyone, and hosts a celebrity bowling tournament to benefit both organizations. Kate is a founding member of TV Cares, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences AIDS awareness and fundraising arm. She was also the only daytime actress to be featured in Portraits of Life, with Love a coffee table book published to raise funds for various AIDS organizations.
In addition to her role on the daytime drama, Kate also works as a United Airlines flight attendant, flying mostly on weekends.
She is married to Ronald Linder, president of American Medical Productions, and a world leading expert and author on drug abuse. The couple lives in Los Angeles.
Kate stands 5' 4" tall and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Her birthday is November 2.
