Yahoo! Chat with Scott
July 6, 1999
Scott: I just want to thank you all for singing on. It is good to be here and I look forward to answering whatever questions you may have.
lasoapqueen asks: What are your future dreams?
Scott: My future dreams would have to be...I do have dreams of doing feature films and I would also be interested in primetime.
kamismommom asks: Does your schedule on Y&R give you plenty of time to spend with Missy and your children?
Scott: Yes, more so than people might think. Nobody works five consecutive days a week. We have sporadic days together and the weekends.
Marty2634 asks: Hello Scott, Will Ryan have an "affair" with one of his ex-wives after he finds out Tricia wasn't on birth control?
Scott: Anything is possible!
sundial4 asks: When did you start your acting career?
Scott: I started my career in high school when I joined the drama club. That was the very beginning.
manolis_varnassinger asks: Scott, who is your best friend off the set
Scott: Probably Peter Bergman, Tricia Cast, and Kristoff St. John.
sundial4 asks: Do you like working with Heather Tom?
Scott: I love working with Heather. I think she is a gifted actress and has grown leaps and bounds over the past eight years.
sreevesfan asks: How did you like working with Melissa?
Scott: Working with her was probably the most pleasant acting experience I've had. She is so good. It was a real treat to work with such a good actress. And at the same time to go home with her.
sundial4 asks: Hello Scott! Would you like to get back with Nina on Y&R?
Scott: That would be possible. I love Tricia Cast. I think she is amazing. But I wouldn't want people to get bored. Ryan needs to stir up a little. His bad boy image is starting to surface again.
heathertime2 asks: Do you still sing?
Scott: Yes, as a matter of fact, I'm currently working on a CD. We started recording yesterday. It's due for release December 1.
haligal_22 asks: Have you ever thought about going to another soap opera?
Scott: No, as long as I'm doing a soap opera, Y&R is a great show. Written very well. If you are gonna be on a soap then this is the one to be on.
Marty2634 asks: Hello Scott, what's it like having Olympic Figure Skating Champion Tara Lipinski on the set of "The Young and The Restless"?
Scott: She is actually a big fan of the show. It was strange signing a picture of myself to her. I was in awe of her talent and Olympic status.
cereal_killer25 asks: How were you discovered?
Scott: Well, I was in acting class back in 1987 and that is where my agent found me.
feb5576 asks: Scott, I like your short hair better than long. Any plans to cut it really short for summer?
Scott: Wow! That is a first. Usually people say they like it long. Actually, I'm probably going to keep it this length. But you never know when I'll get it buzzed off. Whenever I get that urge.
nikegirl4eva asks: Is Shemar (Malcolm) funny on the set?
Scott: Very funny. He is the other clown. He is always goofing.
sundial4 asks: Mr. Reeves, you have a beautiful family! Do you and your wife want more children?
Scott: Yes, we love children. We would definitely like more children in the future. We want to spend a little more time with the two we have at this point.
dustygurl asks: Scott do you think that you'll stay on the show for a long period of time?
Scott: That is hard to say. I love being on the show, working here. It is a great cast and crew. It is so hard to say, every time a contract comes up, you never know what the future holds. I would love to be on the show a long time.
Rthtodd asks: Will Melissa be returning to soaps anytime soon?
Scott: No.
Scott: She would like to do a movie-of-the-week like the one we did. She would like to do a couple of those a year.
sreevesfan asks: Hi Scott, I run the Scott Reeves Fan Page and I was wondering if you've ever been on-line besides for scheduled chats?
Scott: To be honest, tell me where to go. I don't really know where to go.
buffy_summers_20 asks: What's The Funniest Thing A Fan Has Done To Meet You?
Scott: Hmmm.
Scott: The oddest thing is a fan walked into my dressing room, without knocking, closed the door and started watching TV with me. I was like "Hello...who are you??"
pamela_sw asks: Scott, I always thought you looked like James Dean. Has anyone ever told you this before?
Scott: Yes, quite a few people have told me that before. Thank you, I take that as a compliment.
catty30080 asks: I was heartbroken that I missed yours and Melissa's movie, do you have any idea if it will be rerun?
Scott: I'm sure it will be. Probably on cable.
Rthtodd asks: What is your opinion on the declining soap opera ratings?
Scott: Boy, I guess generally there has been an effect on the ratings. I think that people are getting busier and I think they are finding less time to watch the shows. As far as ratings are concerned, that is only a portion of our audience. That is just for people with boxes in their homes. I think we still have a strong viewership.
RKM_57 asks: why don't you do more singing on the show?
Scott: That is really up to the writers. Something about my music is in an upcoming script. They might incorporate it a little more. It was fun.
hcarllee asks: Hi Scott, do you have any plans to do any guest spots on any TV shows next season?
Scott: There is a possibility that I might be doing some episodes of "Charmed". I would love to visit "Chicago Hope" again.
hpitcock asks: How much fan mail do you get in a weeks time?
Scott: Oh, gosh...I get about an average - it varies so much - a few hundred letters a week.
lefants asks: Scott, what is the best part about playing your character?
Scott: It would be dealing with situations I would not normally deal with. Then coming back to reality.
buffy_summers_20 asks: What's your favorite band?
Scott: I would have to say James Taylor. Or Bon Jovi.
chad_sss asks: How do you feel about being nominated for an Emmy? You are an excellent actor!
Scott: Thank you very much. It was very exciting and I was extremely grateful. I wasn't expecting anything. It was a great surprise.
sundial4 asks: Do you answer any of your fan letters personally? Or do you have someone else take care of them for you?
Scott: No, I work together with someone. Doing it all myself would be impossible. I actually, do personally, sit down with someone who helps me.
cpofc asks: Have you and Joshua Morrow ever jammed together musically?
Scott: No, we never have. Actually, I take that back, Joshua come down to my dressing room.
Scott: We jammed for a little while.

Scott: That would be working with Kristoff St John.

haligal_22 asks: Is there anyone on the show that you would like to see your character romantically involved with??
Scott: Sharon, Ramona, that would be fun.
Scott: Nicky.
manolis_varnassinger asks: Who is the best female kisser Vicky or Tricia
Scott: Haha! Well, I gotta say Victoria. We have too much water under the bridge not to. She has grown up over the years. She's learned a lot.
Marty2634 asks: Hello Scott. How are you similar and different than your character on "The Young and The Restless"?
Scott: Ryan and myself are both very persistent. We pursue things we want until we get them. The differences would be, is that I would not do it at any cost. Ryan would do something at any costs. Our ethics are a little bit different.
skater_gal_007 asks: Do you have any idols or heroes you admire?
Scott: I'd have to say Jesus.

Scott: Gosh, speaking of Alaska, I was in Fairbanks at a Sears about a year ago. I definitely hope to get back.
livinitupnow asks: Please be kind enough to answer one of my questions: Do you ever feel as though you're "Ryan" outside the show?
Scott: Absolutely not. It is totally separate.
cpofc asks: Since meeting you in Vancouver, we've become fans of yours. Do you have a fan club? If not, would you like one?
Scott: I do have a fan club. The address is the studio. The head of my fan clubs picks up my mail and we get together and go over it. 7800 Beverly Blvd., LA, CA 90036 is where you can write to me.

Scott: I've been on for about 8 years and 2 months.

They know people recognize me. They aren't old enough to understand it yet. To them it is a regular thing.
Yael_17 asks: How do you memorize all these lines in such a short time?
Scott: The memorization becomes the easiest part after doing it for so long. It is getting to where you need to be emotionally and mentally that is more difficult.
