Here's an interesting theory from Japor Snippet on TFN's Jedi Council Messageboard:
Most people are aware of two references in TPM to the old Andy Griffith Show, which were GL's way of giving a little nod to his friend, Ron Howard. They were, of course, the "Opee" (Opie) Sea Killer monster, and the "Goober" fish. However, I think I found yet another one. The queen's full name is supposed to be Padmé Naberrie Amidala. Does Naberrie rhyme with Mayberry??
