Two Astronauts = One Actor
When:
When Qui Gon, Padme, Jar Jar and R2D2 enter Mos Espa for the first time.
Where:
The long, swooping shot of the group entering Mos Espa is filled with some great stuff. At the end of the shot, you can see two astronauts dressed in black talking to each other in front of a doorway. This is the obvious part. What is funny about it is that the same actor played both astronauts! After filming it in front of a blue screen he/they were added in digitally to the main shot.
Story:
Everyone at ILM hated to show this shot to George Lucas, according to ILM supervisor John Knoll, because every time they showed it to him, he wanted them to add more stuff! First more aliens, then more astronauts, and more ships and vehicles... finally they just had to stop working on it.
