I talked to Doug Chiang about his cameo in Episode One:
Q: Is it true you make a cameo in Episode One and if so, where?
A: I do, but you can't see it because I can't even see it! Actually, I am one of the starting guys on the bridge [at the pod race]. There's a shot of the starting bridge and the guy who starts the race is me. You can't see it because it's like two pixels high.
