The Ratts Tyerell Compendium (Humorous)

Most Star Wars fans wouldn't think of making a webpage on the character - "there's just not enough character to write about!" they would say. But, then again, the same Star Wars fans might not realize that Tyerell's species is seen all throughout the film! Over 30 of the little guys I call "Ratts" are seen on Tatooine and Coruscant. Below are some screen captures of them.

The quality of the pictures are not that good for a reason - so it will entice you to go see TPM on the big screen and find them for yourself! I have seen the film 16 times and still see new things in the movie.

The Boonta Eve pod Race on Tatooine brings racers from all over the galaxy. Probably the first time on Tatooine for most of them, they take an informative tour around Mos Espa and check out the sites. It looks as if one of 'em has been to Mos Espa before...

Pit helpers scramble as the race is about to start. Little Ratts may be small, but they worked hard on trying to make Tyerell's pod the best.

The Boonta Eve pod Race on Tatooine brings racers from all over the galaxy. Being prepared is half of the race, so Ratts Tyerell and his helpers make sure everything is ready. In this image, you can see the Tyerell's pod being pulled by an eopie and a Ratt running behind it trying to keep up.

After long months of training, the moment has come for the race to begin. Ratts Tyerell was in the top three on the first leg of the first lap - but tragedy struck.

While looking to see how close Anakin was, he looses his concentration on where he is going. Tragedy strikes as Tyerell slams into a stalactite and explodes into a ball of flames.

It appears that someone found the body of Ratts Tyerell and, with the help of the pit droids, he will have a proper burial. What amazes me is that he is one piece! I expected they might only find enough to fit into a matchbox.

All of Tyerell's fans are heartbroken. They thought he had a chance this year! As Qui Gon is talking to Watto about HIS winner, devastated fans walk by crying.

At the senate, Ratts are seen in one of the Senate pods. Are they fans of Tyerell? Do they know of his horrible death? By the looks on their faces, I would say no.
