Rob's Halloween Site: The Michael Myers Territory |
F.A.Q.
This is a compilation of frequently asked questions about the HALLOWEEN series as of October 28, 2000.
Q: Where can I find a box set of all of the HALLOWEEN films together?
A: Sorry, because different distributors own the rights to the different films, it's nearly impossible for all of the films to ever be released in a giant boxed set.
Q: Why haven't you updated the H2K section? Is it still being made?
A: We can only update when we've been given info. If we haven't updated, then it means we haven't been given any info and we can't pass along info that we don't have ourselves. At this point in time, it's still moving forward, but nothing else has been revealed to us at the website. Thanks for your patience!
Q: Why is there no mention of Jamie Lloyd (Laurie's daughter) in H20 and why did she give her up and keep John?
A: This isn't exactly a true assessment. The filmmakers made H20 with the notion that H3-6 never existed. So, in this view, Jamie Lloyd does not exist, so Laurie didn't give her up. And although Jamie isn't mentioned, there is nothing denying her existence mentioned, either.
Q: Do you have the sheet music for the HALLOWEEN music?
A: For the most part, yes. Check out the March and April '99 updates in the old News section to find the sheet music, as made by some fans of the series.
Q: Will there be a HALLOWEEN 8?
A: Yes, HALLOWEEN H2K is currently in early stages of pre-production.
Q: Is there an official Michael Myers mask?
A: Yes, there is an official Michael Myers mask was released from Illusive Concepts. It was molded from the mask used in HALLOWEEN The Curse of Michael Myers. It is available at costume shops everywhere. Another incarnation of the mask was released in 1999 from Cinema Secrets. Check our online store to pick one up.
Q: Is there a "Producer's Cut" of H20?
A: No. While there were a few shots that were trimmed from the final film, there was never a completed alternate version of the film, with the exception of an early print featuring the alternate score and a few seconds worth of "different" takes.
Q: Is there an H20 soundtrack?
A: In a way, yes. John Ottman has released his original score for the film in the form of a CD called PORTRAIT OF TERROR.
Q: I have written a great story/script for a HALLOWEEN film. Can I send it to you to get some feedback? Also, can I have Daniel Farrands' or the Akkads' email address to send them a copy?
A: Unfortunately, we just don't have time to read fan-made scripts. In addition, it is not wise to allow other people to read your script ideas due to legal reasons. We cannot give out Daniel Farrands or the Akkads' email address out of sheer respect for privacy.
Q: What's up with an alternate version of Halloween 6?
A: An alternate "Producer's Cut" has leaked out to the public. It involves a bit of a different storyline than the theatrical Halloween 6. Check out a special section on the Producer's Cut section for plot information and stills. Parts of this version appear in the UPN television exhibition of the film.
Q: Where can I get this producer's cut?
A: This version has never been officially released in any form except the clips on the edited television version. The news group alt.horror is a great place to meet other fans who may have seen this version. DO NOT email this site asking for a copy and remember, it is illegal to obtain a pirated movie.
Q: What was the ending of Halloween 6 all about?
A: That's a widely debated topic. General opinion is that Michael is the father of Jamie's baby. Dr. Wynn was working with some form of DNA/genetic experiments at Smith's Grove, a possible reason for Michael's "curse."
Q: Where can I get a copy of the television scenes from Halloween II?
A: Once again, try the alt.horror newsgroup to meet other HALLOWEEN fans who may be of assistance.
Q: Where can I get the HALLOWEEN with TV scenes?
A: Currently, these scenes are available on the Anchor Bay HALLOWEEN Limited Edition DVD, Criterion Collection's HALLOWEEN laserdisc or on Anchor Bay's Limited Edition HALLOWEEN tape set. Some television networks occasionally shows Halloween, with the television scenes in tact. The television version was accidentally released on video a few years back, so some video stores may have a copy of that version. Check the Halloween - Distribution section for more information.
Q: I can't find the HALLOWEEN novels. Do you know where to buy them?
A: Unfortunately, the HALLOWEEN novels for the movies are out of print. Your best chance at finding them would be to search USED Bookstores and possibly the library. Also try online search servies. The Young Adult Novels can be found at your local book store. Last but not least, try E-Bay!
Q: Does Thorn really exist?
A: According to Celtic legend...yes! See the THORN page for more details. Check your local library for more information.
Q: Who or What is "The Shape?"
A: The Shape is what John Carpenter commonly referred to Michael Myers as in the script.
Q: Who played Michael Myers in all of the films?
A: That answer can be found just by going through different sections of the site.
