Distribution: Tell me and take it. ************************** An Angel's Fall "YOU?" Willow and Spike cried out simutaneously. "I'm outta here!" Darren turned on his heel and ran. Buffy groaned, "Now this! What next?" ************************** "So now what? I mean, we're together, so um, what now?" Willow tapped her fingers against the library table nervously. "Well, nothing really. But now you shall be forever bonded, I'm afraid." Giles sighed. "I thought there was something else, wasn't there another paragraph?" Buffy frowned. "Let me check." Giles skimmed the book until he found the page he was looking for. "I missed something!" "Great, read on!" Spike leaned forward. "Well, uh, it says, 'The two's lives shall not be bliss, for their union will cause an Angel's fall. He, in turn will attempt to destroy one or both, for the pair is cursed with absolute power and immortality. If death occurs before the alignment, the power shall be transferred to the one who succeeds.'" "Wonderful! Absolutley fucking wonderful!" Spike slammed his fist into the wall. Willow thought unhappily. "An Angel's fall? Who's the angel?" Buffy chewed her lip thoughtfully. "Do you think--I mean, the angel, um, could be--" Willow stopped. Buffy paled, "Angel?" "Oh dear," Giles slumped into a chair. "Not again," Buffy whispered, "Not again." "So my bloody poof of a sire's gonna come back and make my unlife living 'ell? Should've figured they'd get me back for the whole priest thing." Spike smirked. "This is so not funny, Spike!" Buffy growled. "Well I like to see the humorus side of things, Slayer." Spike emphasized the word Slayer. "You guys! Stop, please!" Willow cried, holding her head. Spike immediately walked over and knelt in front of her, murmuring unintelligible words of comfort. Buffy, Xander; who'd said nothing the entire time, Giles, and Cordelia; another miraculously silent person, watched, their mouths gaping open in shock. But they were even more shocked when instead of pushing him away, Willow embraced Spike. "Umm, whoever thinks this is beyond wigginess please put up their hand." Cordelia said, staring. Everyone raised their hands except Willow and Spike. "Well, this is, I guess," Willow admitted, "but it's completely normal to my mind. I mean, no wigginess felt here." "Umm, I second that statement." Spike backed her, "And as long as this thing goes on, I'm thinking forever, you'll have to make allowances, considering the circumstances. If someone had told me that in the next month, I'd be holding a girl, mortal, and telling her "it's all right" and "everything's gonna be okay" I'd have gutted them." Buffy nodded her head, "Acceptances made. Right?" She looked at the rest of the group. They slowly, and reluctantly nodded. "Good, but I guess that means a truce again, Spike." "Goody." Came Spike's dry answer. Before Buffy could let go of the sharp retort on the tip of her tongue, the doorbell rang. "Saved by the bell," Willow giggled. Spike smiled. Buffy opened the door. There was no one there. Only, a letter, nothing on the front but, "The Scooby Gang". She picked it up and brought it inside, an unconcious tightening in her stomach. "What is it?" Xander asked, seeing the strange look on Buffy's face. "I don't know. It was outside the door." Buffy was opening it as she spoke. When she had pulled out the paper inside and looked at it, she sank into the couch, deathly pale. Inside was a drawing, so like the ones they'd received from Angelus, so long ago. It was Willow and Spike, locked in an embrace identical to the one they were in now. "It's begun." End! Feedback is greatly appreciated! No flames tho!
