Interview With Muse Watson

Muse Watson (Ben Willis in I Know What You Did Last Summer) was kind enough to have an interview with Slasher News. Also visit MuseWatson, com to get pictures, bios, credits of Muse Watson. (Thanks again Muse)

1. Has there been any talks of a third I Know film, If so will you sign for
it?

There has been no talk of a third one coming from anyone who would make it.
There has been alot of talk on the net. If they do make one, I would
consider it, if Love were willing and they had a good script.

2. You seem to like the horror genre, any other horror movies of yours coming
out?

Well, there is one I did several years ago called "If I Die Before I
Wake"....in which I play Daryl. Unlike Ben, Daryl's porch light is on, but
there is no one home. He is brutal, and sick....and the film is real
scary. This film has not been released that I know of.....Maybe because it
is so brutal.

3. Did you ever think that 'From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money' and 'I
Know What You Did Last Summer' series would become popular?

I was hoping alot of people would enjoy our work.....and it has been
gratifying to see so many people on the internet talking about them. Some
of them like to write realy deep thoughts about
them.......LoL.....Hello......they are m o v i e s .....LOL

4. I've heard that you weren't so happy with 'I Still Know..', is it because
the back story added? (Ex. Ben working at island, family burried in the
woods.)

I wasn't unhappy in general. I just thought that some of the script didn't
make sence. I knew Ben from the first one, and I thought the exlaination
they gave for him in the second one proved that they did not. His
character was weakened, and Ben doesn't understand weak. Ben and I had our
own list of those to whack, and some of them weren't in the film.

5. How was it working with super teen stars, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer
Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze, Jr?

They were terrific. Although I don't see them often, I consider them
friends. We had a great time getting to know each other
.

6. Would you ever go direct, produce, or write, or have you?

I have directed and produced theater, and I will do that again, but film is
a different animal. I don't think I have the knowledge to direct a movie,
but I could write and produce and I certainly would.

7. What 'kickstarted' your acting career?

I have had several 'breaks'. The big one was probably being cast with
Julia Roberts, Robert DuVal, Dennis Quaid, and Kyra Sedgewick in "Something
to Talk About". After that film, I had trouble getting people to let me
read for 'bad' guys, because my character was so nice. I made a point of
trying to get 'bad' guys, and played a bunch of them. Now it is hard to
get people to see me in nice guy roles. The nice guy I did in
"Songcatcher" with Janet McTeer and Aidan Quinn which just won a jury prize
for 'ensemble acting' at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival will help.

8. Is there a certain plot for "I'LL Always Know", or director or writer?

There was a story floating around about Love being an attorney in New
Orleans and I make her life miserable, by killing her witnesses and making
it look like she killed them. I think that one would work.

9. Do you surf the internet alot? If so what is one of your favorite sites
(besides MuseWatson.com *hehe*)

I spend about an hour a day answering e-mail and mailing autographs. I get
about 200 e-mails a week and I answer each one of them, so I don't have
time to surf alot, but I do try to explore some.

10. Do you feel your character Ben Willis should be reconized with other
>horror greats like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Jason?

I will let the fans determine that, but I will say those other guys are
dull witted whimps.

11. What was with the KKK guy in Austin Powers II?

You know, we decided I needed a comedy credit after all that killing, so
when they offered a cameo on Austen Powers, we went for it. It was fun. I
had by chance caught a Jerry Springer re-run with a Klansman on it a week
before we filmed it, so that helped. I took the guy seriously.....which is
what I noticed about thsoe guys...they take themselves realy seriously.
LOL
