Slater's Friend - 9.20

Written by: Larry Balmagia and Scott Spencer Gorden
Directed by: Don Barnhart

Guest Stars:
Coach Rizzo: Frank Como

Synopsis: Slater leaves his best friend, a chameleon named Artie, with Screech when he goes to San Diego for the weekend. Screech runs into a problem and gives the chameleon to Zack, where it meets its untimely death. Too bad the gang doesn't have the heart to tell Slater the truth when he gets back.

Critique: Saved by the Bell sort of took a turn with this episode and did something a little different and out of the ordinary. They pulled off somewhat of a dramatic episode. If you think about it, the message the creators of the show were trying to pass off on us is probably much deeper than what the synopsis suggests. The real message was that it's hard to lose a close friend, and in my opinion they did a good job conveying that to the audience.
Grade: B-

Quote of the Episode:
