Straight Romance
Ah, my favorite catagory! I really like non-hentai straight relationship doujinshi between almost any of the couples in Kenshin, but unfortunately they are pretty hard to find- and when you do, expensive. I would really like to get some more than what I have ^^x. Most of the doujinshi listed on this page are not explicit at all, and if there is anything, I will mark a notice. Even if I do acquire one that I keep, I will not scan anything worse than what you'd see in a PG-13 ish movie.
Tsukimi de Ippai, Eagle Claw deikou circle. The art in this doujinshi is really nice, there are some humerous stories in it that I wish I could read, and some really nice full page drawings of characters like Kenshin, Hiko, and Sano ( partially clothed ;) One story deals with Kenshin having to eat Kaoru's cooking. The next one is a cute one is where Kenshin is putting Kaoru to bed and she falls asleep clutching his shirt. He dosn't want to wake her so sleeps next to her; when she wakes up the next morning she is well, less than pleased. It has 42 pages.
K&K World circle Despite the name, all I have from this circle is 2 (VERY well done) Misao x Aoshi doujinshi. The artstyle is VERY cute and the covers are pretty professionally done with their coloring. Both doujinshi are very sweet with nothing graphic at all. I would love some more doujinshi from this circle!
Alive by Kakisaka Kimita is a very sweet story about Aoshi and Misao. Aoshi gives little Misao a good-luck charm pendant before he leaves on his journeys. Little Misao is distraut that he is leaving, but holds onto the good luck charm, awaiting his return. She is strong for him, and when he does return, Misao's wishes are fulfilled. It has 18 pages.
Pure Girl, also by Kakisaka Kimita is a one-story doujinshi that focuses on Misao and her trying to impress Aoshi by finding a nice kimono, but she has apprehensions after getting the kimono that he will ignore her as usual (I think.) When she finally does see him, though, she plants a kiss on his cheek. The artstyle is nice, especially the cover. It has 40 pages.
Hodokeru (kanji kanji) by Reimi Chihaya and Suzunari S. This doujinshi has 2 Aoshi + Misao stories. One has a VERY shoujo style Misao (as is depicted by the misao on the cover) and the second has a nice solid style, more like the Aoshi on the cover. The first story is pretty traditional, with Misao longing after a neglegent Aoshi who warms up at the end of the story. The second, with a really cute artstyle, has Misao being rambunctious and then is scolded by Aoshi. She tries to dress up and be proper for him, but that falls short when she ends up climbing a tree to rescue some laundry that blew up there (?) The doujinshi also has some cute full page drawings. It has 24 pages.

Yamaguchirou circle. This circle is pretty well known for its well-drawn, but rather explicit hentai K x K doujinshi, but on my recent trip to Japan I lucked upon a series of short doujinshis which have the beautiful artstyle Yamaguchirou is known for, but nothing more explicit than kisses. They are beautiful, but short, doujinshi's, by the series name Violently Happy. I have numbers 2-5 (I wish I could have found #1!)
Violently Happy 2 is a cute Kenshin x Kaoru doujinshi . Kaoru is standing in the door frame of the dojo watching the snow fall, and Kenshin comes up behind her. They talk for a while and it ends with a sweet kiss. It has 15 pages.
Violently Happy 3 is another Kenshin x Kaoru romance doujinshi. Kenshin is outside doing the laundry and Kaoru comes outside in her Kendo uniform. They talk for a bit and Kenshin puts his arms around her waist and they clasp hands. It has 15 pages.
Violently Happy 4 This doujinshi is an Aoshi x Misao cute story. In it, Misao comes back to the Aoiya slightly (slightly?) drunk and starts talking at Aoshi in a happily drunk/ infatuated fashion. Aoshi dosn't appear to quite know what to make of it, but when Misao falls asleep on him, he holds her until she wakes up again. When she does, is has regained soberness and is very embarassed and surprised. Aoshi dosn't seem to mind, though, and they fall asleep together again. It has 15 pages.
Violently Happy 5 This issue is a Tomoe x (her fiancee- I forgot his name) and Kenshin x Kaoru. In this doujinshi Tomoe and her fiancee's (spirits?) have rejoined and are walking and talking. Along their jouney, they see Kenshin, now happily married to Kaoru with their son, which seems to make Tomoe happy. It has 15 pages.
Niai vol.? by Neo Performance. This doujinshi has some very cute and well-drawn illustrations. In the first story, Kaoru's cooking makes Kenshin rather ill, and Kaoru feels really guilty. In the second story, Kenshin is having some rather racy dreams about Kaoru (though not much is shown) and Megumi sneaks a kiss while he is asleep. Kaoru., meanwhile, is very upset about something (I'm not very sure what- this might be part of a storyline that began before this doujinshi.) Eventually, Kenshin and Kaoru talk for a while and seem to work things out. Either way, they spend the night together. It has 62 pages.
This doujinshi has been traded
Holiday by M's Paradise circle, by Megumi Nanase. This doujinshi contains two stories. The first one has Kenshin and Kaoru talking about Enishi and the second one is an Aoshi and Misao story. Sorry for the short description, but there isn't a lot of action and I don't know Japanese well enough to tell what they are saying. It has 22 pages.
This doujinshi has been traded
(Kanji Unknown) samayoi- by Donkey-Monkey circle. A serious, long story that takes it upon itself to cover Kenshin's wandering years. It begins with Kenshin finding Tomoe's fiancee's skull and burying it next to her. He then begins his journey. Near the begining, his ponytail is chopped off by an irate villager. His growing hair marks the time in his travels (and explains why his hair is the same length at the begining of the series as it is when he was the battousai.) Along the way, he searches for inner peace and visite buddhist temples. The wanderings go through the short story where he meets the girl who gives him a hair ribbin. Near the end, it has the beginining of the first scene of the manga/anime. At the end, it has Kenshin and Kaoru talking together (telling her his story?) and then spending some quality time together at one of the places he traveled though.

Spiritual Typhoon- last number Kenshin and Kaoru by Mitsru Aoyagi Kiryu. This doujinshi, while it has some beautiful artwork, also seems to have a rather complicated plot that is a bit hard to follow for one who is not yet fluent in Japanese (like myself.) There seems to be a lot of symbolism? having to do with 2 masks (one woman and one demon) found (?) at the Kamiya dojo. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be symbolic or if they have mystical properties, but either way, both Kenshin and Kaoru seem to get very sad when Kaoru puts the maiden mask on. In one instance, she seems to disappear after putting it on and Kenshin is wracked with sadness. Kenshin and Kaoru spend a lot of time having serious conversations and in one scene, Kenshin and Kaoru spar. It has 112 pages.
THIS DOUJINSHI HAS BEEN TRADED
(Title Unknown- and in virtually illegible Japanese calligraphy) Circle also Unknown. This has several Kenshin & Kaoru stories of varying lengths all done by the same artist, who is pretty good. The first story of this doujinshi deals with Kenshin trying to spend some quality time with Kaoru, but flashbacks of his time as the battousai keeps haunting his thoughts. The second story has Kenshin and Kaoru exchanging ear nibbles before he goes to fight Saitou. The third part is Kenshin sitting on the log by the river thinking of Kaoru. The third is set sideways in the doujinshi and is typical but cute. Next is one with Kenshin and Kaoru at a river, Kenshin ending up getting drenched. The next one have Kenshin and Kaoru upset running through tall grasses with flashbacks of Saitou, looing like they are trying to find a quiet place to themselves... The doujinshi has 108 pages.

(Title Unknown) by Makoto Morinouchi. This doujinshi is really cute and probably one of my favorites. The artstyle really reminds me specifically of Kowaru from Evangelion (I think it has something to do with the shape of the characters' faces and noses.) It has two stories. The first one takes place in the past, but after Tomoe has died, with Kenshin going back to see the children that he played with while he was with Tomoe (in the manga) before leaving for his journey. The second one is a cute Kenshin and Kaoru one, with Kenshin and Kaoru sitting, hugging, on the porch of the dojo. The doujinshi also has a really cute extra in the back- how to tie a hakama using Kenshin as an example (and a less than pleased example when the artist decides to take some "liberties" ^^x) It has 40 pages.

Enkuzushi by Hysteria circle (take 12.) This beautifully drawn doujinshi features an odd coupling (and not one I really see) of Kaoru and Enishi. Despite the pairing, I really like this doujinshi. The art is great, it's sweet and not explicit, and the plot looks good. This doujinshi has 2 stories. The first is a modern setting with Kaoru as a school teacher and Enishi as the 'bad' student in need of help. Kaoru notices something is going on with him, and ends up comforting him. Tomoe makes an appearance in the end of the story as a bitchy older sister. The second story takes place when Enishi has Kaoru in his rowboat, kidnapped. At first Kaoru is quite afraid of him and upset about being kidnapped, but like the first story, notices the sadness in him and comforts him. It has 60 pages.

Taboo 2: Battousai Ren San Ka by Hysteria/ Kasumi Kuze. This is another absolutely gorgeous doujinshi by Hysteria circle. As far as I can tell, in this doujinshi (which is part 2 of a series that I don't have part 1 of...) Kenshin has reverted to Battousai and Karou is trying to hold him back and find the man she loves in him. Unfortunately, she dosn't seem to be doing a very good job at stoping him from killing... It has 72 pages.

Yuroyuru Mani (?- hard to make out) by A.A.C. This doujinshi starts with Kenshin having dreams of loving, and then killing, Tomoe- and then wakes up in a cold sweat. He can't quite get over the dream the next day, and as the Kenshingumi are getting back from a shopping trip, they see a boy drowning in the river. Kaoru rushes in to save him, but nearly drowns herself in the process. Megumi is able to help her recover, but she is still sick. Kenshin watches over her, (I'm guessing feeling like he failed in not keeping her from danger.) All ends well, though as they kiss and go out for another walk again, alone. It has 42 pages.

Title Unknown by Nikko P.C. is another Kenshin & Kaoru doujinshi with a little more amaturish artstyle, but still cute. Kaoru has a dream about Kenshin standing in a sea of grass, lonely. She wakes up and goes out to the courtyard to find Kenshin, looking lonely like in her dream (after accidentally hitting him on the head with a shinai when she thinks he is an intruder.) They talk and spend some time together and Kaoru takes his hand in the end. It has 28 pages.

Title Unknown circle unknown. This doujinshi is another cute Kenshin & Kaoru story with cameos from Yahiko and Sano. From what I can tell, Kenshin is leaving to go on a trip/for a long walk, and Kaoru runs after him to come along. They walk for a while and share the moment, Kenshin pointing out sites to her, and sharing her shawl with him when it gets colder. Only one thing bothers me about the doujinshi- all the characters eyes' are the size of dishes- it's not too bad, just a lot larger than even what I'm used to from other more shoujo doujinshi. It has 34 pages.
Baby Face by unknown circle is an absolutely beautiful doujinshi. All of the internal artwork looks like it was done in watercoler, even though it is in black and white. It is a sweet story between Kenshin and Kaoru but also has Sano and Yahiko making appearances. In the back on brown paper there is a page for a couple of the characters with a serious drawing of them, a description and then a chibi picture. It has 28 pages.
Futari no Ietsudo (Two persons' house?) by Meijijyara. This circle has absolutely wonderful artwork that is amazingly close to Watsuki's own. I would love to own more of their doujinshi. I recently traded my Niai doujinshi for this one. Story synopses curtesy of Connie: There are 3 stories in this doujinshi: 1. Kenshin and Sanosuke decide to peek into the room
where Kaoru is sleeping in just for fun. Well, when Kenshin peeks in, he sees that her legs are bare (!). He shoves Sano out and says Sano can't peek in. Then Sano says why not, and points out that it's because Kenshin likes Kaoru, etc. I really like this story! 2. Kenshin accidentally slips in the bathtub and turns into the Battousai! At night he is especially "rough" with Kaoru... ^^; 3. Kenshin notices that something is wrong with Kaoru. He thinks she is mad at him about something. The real reason... (aah! can't ruin it for you!) It has 40 pages.

Yumegatari, by Winghills and Ayano Shitou is a gorgeous anthology of three doujinshi by the Winghills circle. The artwork is very beautiful but simple and is amazing at capturing the characters' emotions. The stories include Kenshin wandering and thinking back on all the moments with his friends, Kaoru being injured in a fight between Kenshin and some other men - kenshin feels incredibly guilty and tries to take care of her, and another relationship story that uses a wounded bird throughout it as a metaphor. It has 192 pages!
