This is the car that Virgin Records used (along with David Soul,
Paul Michael Glaser, and Antonio Fargas) to promote
the video release of "Starsky & Hutch" in the U.K. in 1999.
The engine is a 351 Cleveland.
The car has black leather interior, air conditioning,
air shocks, lowered front suspension, and to increase the rake
even more, the slotted mags are 14 inch on the front and 15 on the back

Liz' Torino was built in Chicago. It originally had a 351 cid engine,
but that was replaced with a 400. It has a C-6 transmission with 2.75 ratio,
and black vinyl interior - full bench originally but replaced with the
split bench it has now, with red inset stripes front and rear.
It has 2B paint. It has a full instrument panel, including factory
tachometer, factory AC, an aftermarket stereo, slotted aluminum mags,
and air shocks. There are only 64,000 miles on this car

Conrad bought this car in April of 1978 from the original owner!
It had about 12,000 miles on it! It originally had a 400 cid,
2 barrel engine, C-6 automatic transmission, and 2.75 ratio
standard rear axle. It had white interior with a bench front seat
and maroon carpet! Conrad replaced the interior with
black carpet and bucket seats, and replaced the engine
with a 460 cid 4 bbl police interceptor - all from other '76 Torinos

Mark bought the car about a day before he graduated from high school in 1978 and drove it there that graduation night. It sure turned some heads. He sold it after a couple years but has tons of pictures of it. What made his unique was that it had a 460 big block engine. It had black interior, shifter on the column and split bench. Mark bought it at a car dealer about 30 miles from him and when he first saw it on the lot they had just traded for it and it had so much dirt on it you couldn't see the stripe. They cleaned it up and it was his soon after.
Mark added a Hawk tachometer and an 8-track player, wide tires and slotted Western mags, rear window defroster, retractable trunk mounted antenna and removable red flashing light on the roof. The car came with air shocks and the original 5 spoke wheel rims. Mark also found the factory assembly paper behind the back seat that describes the car as a Starsky & Hutch unit.
Mark was told after he got it the previous owner had missed a curve and wrecked it at over 90 mph. They had rebuilt it but the Gran Torino chrome name plates were missing off the front quarter panels. He added them later when he applied a clear coat over the original paint. Also the frame was twisted so that one of the rear wheel wells was about 1"-2" higher than the other side. This took its toll on wide tires and Mark was constantly being stopped by the Police for having an illegal suspension.
It was Mark's pride and joy. He showed it at a few car shows, cruised a lot, and drove in some parades. His license plate said STRSKY

Here is a 1976 torino that saw it better days

This is Jeff B.'s third "Starsky & Hutch" car (see another in the driveway).
After deciding that the original 351 engine didn't have enough horsepower,
Jeff installed a 460 from a 1977 Lincoln. It has a mid-range cam and
Holley 750 carb, and a C6 tranny with a 9", 28 spline axle with 3:30 gears.
It also has high lift coil springs and 12 inch rear wheels - yes 12 inches!
This Oklahoma Torino is more than O.K. - it's fantastic!
