david soul
David Soul, starring as the tough, soft-spoken, well-educated police detective Ken Hutchinson in "Starsky & Hutch" (which also stars Paul Michael Glaser as Starsky), has starred in several movies for television, including "The Disappearance of Flight 412," "Intersect," "Movin' On," "Little Ladies of the Night," and the ABC Movie of the Week, "Starsky & Hutch," which launched the series. He guest-starred in segments of "The Streets of San Francisco," "Cannon," "Medical Center," "The Rookies," "Ironside," "Star Trek," "McMillan and Wife," "Dan August," "Circle of Fear" and "Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law." In the latter he played Lee Majors' successor as Arthur Hill's assistant. His motion pictures include "Johnny Got His Gun," "Magnum Force" and "Dog Pound Shuffle." He was born David Solberg on August 28, the son of Dr. Richard W. Solberg, Ph.D., Lutheran minister, professor of history and former religious affairs advisor for the U.S. State Department. David attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the University of the Americans in Mexico City and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis as a political science major. He gave up his studies to pursue a career in music. He went to New York where he made 25 singing appearances on "The Merv Griffin Show." After a screen test, he was signed to a Screen Gems contract and given a starring role in the ABC Television series "Here Come the Brides." In 1975 David put together a production of the rarely staged, play, "Baal," by German playwriter-expressionist Bertolt Brecht. In the Actors Alley Theatre (Los Angeles) production, David doubled as leading man and as composer of music for eight Brecht ballads. David is single and lives in Sherman Oaks, California. A young man of many interests and skills, he is an expert skier, enjoys fast rides on his motorcycle, plays piano and guitar and is well informed on social and political issues. * This was David Soul's biographical information at the time when he portrayed Det. paul michael glaser
Paul Michael Glaser was born and grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts He attended Tulane University in New Orleans, earned an M.A. degree as a theater and English major, and graduated from Boston University with a Master's degree in acting and directing. While attending Boston U., he did five seasons in summer stock.
Paul made his New York stage debut in Joseph Papp's rock version of "Hamlet" in 1968 and went on to appear in numerous off-Broadway plays. He got his early television training as a starring regular in the daytime series, "Love of Life" and "Love is a Many Splendored Thing." His first major role on Broadway was in Robert Shaw's "The Man in the Glass Booth," after which he signed to co-star as Perchik, Tevya's revolutionary son-in-law in the motion picture version of "Fiddler on the Roof." He was also featured in the motion picture "Butterflies Are Free," a role he had previously played for seven months on Broadway.
Moving to California, Paul guest starred in segments of "Kojak," "Toma," "The Streets of San Francisco," "The Rockford Files," "The Sixth Sense" and "The Waltons." He starred in two ABC "Movie of the Week" presentations, "Trapped Beneath the Sea" and "Starsky and Hutch," from which came the hit series now in its third season on ABC. He also starred as magician Harry Houdini in the two-hour Spelling-Goldberg Production for ABC Television, "The Great Houdini." After completing the first season of "Starsky...," Paul starred in the play "Luther" at the Peachtree Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
A bachelor, Paul lives in the Hollywood Hills above Laurel Canyon. He stays in top physical condition by playing tennis.

antonio fargas
Antonio Fargas, born in New York City, landed his first role by responding to a newspaper ad calling for young men to appear in a film titled "The Cool World," being filmed in Harlem. He went on to study with the American Community Theatre, and Lloyd Richards' and Robert Hooks' Group Theater Workshop, which later became famous as the Negro Ensemble Company. His first major role was on Broadway in "The Great White Hope," starring James Earl Jones. Other roles followed in such plays as LeRoy Jones' "The Slave" and "The Toilet"; James Baldwin's "The Amen Corner," in which he toured Europe; the all-black cast production of "The Glass Menagerie" (Tony played the Gentleman Caller), and "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men," in which he replaced Billy Dee Williams. In California for the West Coast production of "Dream on Monkey Mountain" with Roscoe Lee Browne, he made his television debut on The Bill Cosby Show. Earlier, he has appeared in the motion picture "Putney Swope," which was filmed in New York. This was followed by major roles in "Shaft," "Pound," "Across the 110th Street," and "Car Wash." A starring role in the feature, "Cleopatra Jones," brought Tony and his wife, Katie, to Hollywood permanently. On television he has guest starred in segments of "The Night Stalker," "Police Story," "Police Woman," "Toma" and "Ironside." bernie hamilton
Bernie Hamilton, born and raised in Los Angeles, played minor roles in films and stage plays from age seven. He landed his first adult role in "The Jackie Robinson Story," as Robinson's best friend. His thirty major motion picture credits include "Let No Man Write My Epitaph," "The Swimmer," Carmen Jones," "Kismet," "The Girl He Left Behind," "Take a Giant Step" and the memorable "One Potato, Two Potato" in which he starred with Barbara Barrie. Although "Starskey & Hutch" is his first television series, Hamilton has been prominent among TV actors for over 20 years. In recent years he has guest starred in segments of "That's My Mama," "The Six Million Dollar Man," "Hec Ramsey," "All in the Family," "Sanford and Son," "Ironside" and "The Bold Ones." On the stage he has appeared in productions of "Take a Giant Step," "The Petrified Forest," "Going Down the Road," "Othello," "The Merchant of Venice," "Waiting for Lefty" and "No Time for Sergeants," the latter on Broadway. Divorced, Hamilton is the father of two - daughter Candy and son Raoul. Bernie lives in a comfortable Tudor-style home in the Wilshire district.
