BOOKS ABOUT TAROT & TAROT DECKS
The subject of the tarot frightens some and fascinates others. Lady G, in association with Amazon.com, hopes you will find the following books helpful and entertaining. Some tarot decks are also included here, and if you look carefully you'll find a CD rom. Although there are many items here, be assured that Lady G has been selective. No, she hasn't read all of these books but she has excluded those that promise the tarot will help you lose weight, cause members of whichever sex you prefer to flock to you in droves, or fund your new business. Please note that she also (and adamantly) does not care to list the Thoth deck, or any books by Aleister Crowley or concerning Thoth. You may certainly connect to Amazon here and search for them on your own but Lady G does not recommend it. If one of these books or decks turns out to be written or created by a follower of Thoth, Lady G would appreciate being let know so she can remove it from the list.
So what WOULD Lady G recommend? Any book by Eden Gray is a good base for the beginning tarot reader; his grasp of the symbols is strong and his explanations are clear. Waite and his deck are quite fine, although Lady G has always rather favored Palladini's Aquarian deck.
Even without cover art to lure you, certain following books and decks are important enough to cry out for your attention (it's in the cards). At any rate there are so many different kinds of decks, Lady G felt obligated to point out to you the ones that are not evil.
