This series is set after the Beast Wars II series.
It covers the adventures of the Cybertron commander Big Convoy,
the Destron commander Magmatron, and their armies and allies
on their mission to collect the Angolmois energy capsules
last seen dispersed into space at the end of Beast Wars II.
Along the way they encounter the Blentrons, led by the
newly-revived ancient enemy Unicron.
Note: I haven't seen much of the animated series beyond episode 4, so
the entries will just primarily contain pictures.

catalogs
for figures in this series can be found at the bottom of the page.

Bazooka
Bazooka is a Destron ankylosaur. In the show he and
Here are my two scans of his specs card:
Big Convoy
Big Convoy is the commander of his group of Cybertrons trying to
gather the capsules of Angolmois energy spread throughout space on
various worlds. Known as a One-Man-Army, a soldier who prefers to
work alone, he felt burdened by the assignment by Vector Sigma and
the Convoy Council to be the instructor for his Cybertron trainees.
However, like the original Convoy (Optimus Prime) to whom he looks
similar, he learned to deal with it.
His beast mode is a giant mammoth, which can swing out his robot
form's giant gun. He carries a removable Matrix object inside his
robot chest. Underneath his lower arms are tongfas, which can be
swung out to lie underneath his fists. Missiles are hidden inside
his mammoth form's sides, and can be used in all modes.
Here are my pictures involving Big Convoy, including his Matrix:
- Front left view of mammoth mode
(33K, figure, 9/24/99).
Tusks and snout are stiff but flexible. Tusks can be operated by
moving the ears back and forth, while the snout can be curled up
by moving the lever on the top of his mammoth head back and forth.
- Side view of mammoth mode
(32K, figure, 9/24/99).
The lower side flaps can be pulled out to reveal missiles in their
launchers. They are similar to the original Beast Wars T-Rex Megatron's.
- Front left view of robot mode
(34K, figure, 9/24/99).
The white objects under his fists are the tongfa weapons.
- Big Convoy's Matrix
(39K, figure, 9/24/99).
It bears some similarities to the original Matrix of Leadership,
and might be used against the new form of Unicron in this series.
- Upper robot body
(50K, figure, 9/24/99).
A Cybertron/Maximal symbol can be seen here. It is actually a
Transmetal 2 spark crystal installed backwards.
- The chest with the Matrix seen inside
(48K, figure, 9/24/99).
The grill pattern inside his chest resembles Optimus Prime's.
- The chest without the Matrix
(43K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Big Convoy holding the Matrix
(53K, figure, 9/24/99).
Light our Darkest Hour! ;)
- Front close view of robot head
(41k, figure, 9/24/99).
Eyes are of a golden color. The antennae can be lowered, or raised
up when his chest slides up to cover his head during transformation
to mammoth mode.
- Left front close view of robot head
(39k, figure, 9/24/99).
My scans of his transformation instructions can be found
here.
Break
Break is a young brass Cybertron warrior with a penguin mode. With the others,
he developed the plan to surprise their incoming commander with a trap for him,
but Big Convoy tricked them. ;)
Break also has a cannon mode that can be held up like a Targetmaster
by larger Cybertrons like Longrack and Big Convoy.
Here are my pictures of Break:
- Left front view of penguin mode
(11K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Front left view of penguin mode
(13K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Front view of robot mode
(34K, figure, 9/24/99).
He sure has a lot of beast parts hanging on him in robot mode.
- Upper front left view of robot mode
(31K, figure, 9/24/99).
Here you can clearly see his missile launcher, called the Break Anchor.
- Close view of head and upper body
(34K, figure, 9/24/99).
Corada
Also known as Corahda, Corada looks like a conquistador. He is a Cybertron
with a cobra mode and an artillery mode behind which small Cybertrons like
Stampy and Break can operate and look out through.
Here are my pictures of him:
Dead End
Dead End (apparently not related to Dead End of the original Transformers
series) transforms into a Destron ammonite. He lives for battle.
Here are some pictures of him:
- Left view of ammonite mode
(31K, figure, 9/24/99).
Looks really neat.
- Cut-away right-side view of
ammonite mode
(29K, figure, 9/24/99).
In case you don't remember how he was positioned while inside his shell
in ammonite mode, this should help you a lot. ;) Make sure
that the thin peg seen at the bottom of the left shell here fits into
the hole in the bottom of the right shell. That should lead to a perfect
fit.
- Front of robot mode
(32K, figure, 9/24/99).
He is really lanky. His feet doesn't support his top-heavy body that
well. His right shell can be launched to his right by pulling on the
purple lever.
- Left front view of robot mode
(30K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Close view of robot head
(22K, figure, 9/24/99).
Guiledart
A major devious strategist and
Magmatron's
right-hand soldier. Transforms
into a triceratops who can really pretend to be dead, luring the curious close
enough to be attacked.
Here are my pictures of Guiledart:
- Left view of triceratops mode
(32K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Left front view of play-dead mode
(31K, figure, 9/24/99).
His side flaps flip down to reveal ribs among open muscles. Red rods
swing out from his front legs as if they were blood trails. The tail
can be pulled out a bit to reveal red torn muscles. Swinging back the
central horn rolls the tongue out and his eyeballs out of sight.
- Front view of above
(29K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Close view of robot head
(29K, figure, 9/24/99).
As for many other Destrons, his head has features of his alternate mode.
- Front of robot mode
(26K, figure, 9/24/99).
He is a heavy-set robot with lots of beast parts hanging off of him in
this mode. The beast's back piece is supposed to go over his left
shoulder, but I arrange it so it wraps around his left arm as a cannon
and shield with two more weapons from his front beast legs.
- Back of robot mode
My alternate arrangement of his beast parts on his back so they don't
interfere too much with his arm movements.
Longrack
Longrack is the Cybertrons' second in command who answers to
Big Convoy.
He transforms into a giraffe. His most notable feature is his grabber
claw, hidden inside the giraffe neck, which he can use to catch Destrons.
Here are some large scans I did of Longrack:
- Left view of giraffe mode
(103K, figure, 5/13/00).
It is very tall. ^_^
The eye pupils roll forward when you push in his tongue.
- Front view of robot mode
(102K, figure, 5/13/00).
Robot mode is considerably shorter, about as tall as the original
Optimus Prime figure from head to toe. His right hand is a grabber
claw, while his left hand holds a dagger stored in that lower arm.
His right hand can hold it instead, too. The insides of his upper
front giraffe limbs contain missiles that can fire very far when the
black triggers on its sides are pressed. His red Cybertron crystal
symbol is underneath his chest plate, which can be swung up to reveal it.
- The above with the grabber claw
fully extended
(106K, figure, 5/13/00).
When the black trigger on the giraffe neck is pressed, the claw extends
out from its grey enclosure, which also extends from the neck, with a
small burst of explosion. ^_^
Machkick
Also called Mach Kick, he is a Cybertron horse Transformer and a veteran.
Here are my pictures of Machkick:
- Left view of horse mode
(31K, figure, 9/24/99).
His tail is indeed hair-like. The horse head can be extended forward
by pushing down on the lowest mane piece. Entire front legs and the
lower rear legs can be posed.
- Front left view of horse mode
(20K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Horse standing on rear legs
(26K, figure, 9/24/99).
This looks really great. ^_^
- Close view of robot head
(76K, figure, 1/28/00).
Notice the actual black hair ponytail going out from the back of his head.
- Front view of robot mode
(10K, figure, 1/28/00).
He has plenty of beast parts hanging off him in robot mode, but I arrange
most of them toward the back as if they were a group. Note: The horse's
tail and the robot head's ponytail are not the same, so there are actually
two sets of real hair on him. The robot head's ponytail wraps behind his
robot back in horse beast mode.
Magmatron
Magmatron is the Destron commander during this series seeking the
capsules of Angolmois energy. A fierce leader, he is an excellent fighter
greatly admired by his troops. His main weapon is the Magma-Blade sword,
which can also be repositioned in his fist and used as a launcher to fire
the blade itself. His robot form is actually a combination of three
creatures, Landsaurus (a gigantosaur), Seasaurus (an elasmosaur), and
Skysaurus (a variant of a quetzalcoatl), who can't transform into individual
robots. The three beasts can also combine into a single big creature.
Here are my pictures of Magmatron:
- Front left view of robot mode
(30K, figure, 9/24/99).
His lower arms can only bend up at the elbows so that the palms would
face the upper arms, much like Tigerhawk's from Beast Wars. He holds
together very well.
- With the Magma-Blade as a projectile
weapon
(37K, figure, 9/24/99).
By swinging down a thin stick containing another peg, Magmatron can hold
onto that peg instead and hold his weapon like a gun. Each hand contains
a movable thumb, but only the right hand contains a hole for either peg.
- Back right view of robot mode
(31K, figure, 9/24/99).
The base of Seasaurus' very long neck begins here.
- Back view of robot mode
(20K, figure, 9/24/99).
Seasaurus' color is actually sea green, not bluish.
- Left side of robot mode
(19K, figure, 9/24/99).
Here you can see Seasaurus' full lower body used as a shield.
- Right side of robot mode
(22K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Upper body of robot mode
(41K, figure, 9/24/99).
You can see all four heads of Magmatron. Seasaurus' head can be lifted
off its hole and be brought out using its neck as if attacking.
Skysaurus' head can be swung up to open his toothy beak.
- Close left front view of robot head
(28K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Close front view of robot head
(28K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Skysaurus, Landsaurus, and Seasaurus
(29K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Seasaurus with front legs
(22K, figure, 9/24/99).
I did this by pulling out the beast legs normally stored inside him in
his beast mode.
- Combined-beasts mode
(30K, figure, 9/24/99).
The instructions actually say to lay Skysaurus' head and neck down along
the back of the creature, but I thought it would be neat to have all three
heads looking forward. ;)
My scans of his transformation instructions can be found
here.
Here are my screen captures of Magmatron from the show:

Saberback
If
Corada
looks like a conquistador, then Saberback looks like an Incan chieftain
thanks to his headdress. A stegosaur Transformer, this wily Destron can
use his tail's weapon, called the Triple-Claws, to look like a flower.
He can trap and/or attack anyone who gets too close to it. Presumably
the rest of him looks like a dead carcass or rock, or is hidden under
something else, in the meantime.
Here are my pictures of Saberback:
- Close view of robot head
(28K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Front of robot mode
(25K, figure, 9/24/99).
He has one of the least amount of beast parts hanging off him in robot mode
of all Beast Wars Neo figures.
- Left front view of stegosaur mode
(32K, figure, 9/24/99).
- Deploying the flower decoy
(27K, figure, 9/24/99).
The stegosaur scales look like leaves in this mode.
