Michael Knight: KITT, buddy talk to me...KITT

Garthe: Now that we have rebuilt Goliath with KITT's CPU nothing will stop me from eliminating Michael Knight and the Foundation for Law and Government

Michael: April I have no choice, I need your help.

We've got to find KARR's cpu and put it into KITT's body

KARR:(Michael riding KARR in KITT's body): Your reactivating me Mr. Knight does not mean that I will help you get that inferior production line copy.

(Goliath roars and KARR's red scanner flashes)

"So Michael, I see you enjoyed that long overdue vacation," Bonnie said while working under KITT to update his data banks with some new information.

"Geez Bonnie, it would have been better if you came along seeing how Devon has been keeping you locked up these past three weeks," Michael said.

Bonnie closed KITT's hood and KITT rudely interrupted.

"That's no way to treat Michael Bonnie, after all he did bring you back something," KITT said.

Bonnie, getting curious looked toward KITT and gave Michael a glare of distrust and then a short smile.

"Here it is, my old Pac-Man game, I've been saving it for you Bonnie," Michael said.

Bonnie takes the Pac-Man game and hides it as Devon walks in with RC and goes to shake Michael's hand.

"Welcome back, Michael I can see you and KITT are ready to go to Las Vegas," Devon says with a smile on his face.

Michael sighs, "I just got back from vacation, can't I get a little more time?"

Devon replies, "sorry duty calls, I will have Bonnie download the information into KITT's database. As for the Pac-Man game Bonnie, "

and Michael cuts in, "Its mine, but like you said I have to get going, see ya guys later."

Michael pulls out of the semi, makes a right turn and heads off towards Las Vegas. As soon as Michael and KITT are far enough away, a truck can be heard roaring in the distance.

"So buddy, what's the lowdown on this Douglas Vanderbelt, he appears to be clean on the surface," Michael asks.

KITT responds hastidly, "According to my information that Bonnie downloaded he appears to be connected to an african prisioner who served several life sentences."

Michael said with assurance, "there's got to be a connection, can you tap into the phone company's records and find a frequently called number and trace the location?"

KITT pauses and says, "according to my information the call is registered to 310 Windsor Hwy in Las Vegas Nevada."

KITT plot in a course for the quickest way to get to Las Vegas," Michael says.

As KITT speeds up to 240 mph, the truck continues to head towards the Knight Foundation semi and no one seems to notice its increasing speed.

"Devon," Bonnie cries out over the sound of RC reving up his new motorbike.

RC rushes over with Devon and both ask what is wrong.

"It's...No, it can't be" Devon says.

Devon turns away and looks towards the screen again doing a double take of the situation.

Devon says "Goliath" and RC and Bonnie both looked puzzled and alarmed and waiting for an explanation.

Devon slowly starts and then pauses and continues, "Michael's face was no random accident as you both know. While Bonnie was taking classes in San Francisco and April Curtis filled in for her , Wilton Knight's only son Garthe Knight got the original 3 including me to give him the molecular bonded shell and then he kidnapped us."

Bonnie interrupted in haste, "But you told us he went over the edge of a cliff and perished."

RC butted in and said, "According to his direction he appears to be headed for...US!"

Devon swiftly replied, "Reginald we must get out of here now, Goliath is unstoppable if Garthe has covered it with the MBS."

The cry of Goliath came closer and then smashed into the right side of the semi, knocking the driver out and sending the semi into a tailspin. Bonnie quickly and alertly found the computer and relayed an sos on the comlink frequency.

"Michael, Bonnie is transmitting a code on your comlink and it reads S. O. S."

KITT interrupted Michael as he played the sounds of Bon Jovi's Living on A Prayer loud and KITT promptly discontinued the song.

"Hey what was that for?" Michael said as if in a daze.

"Michael Bonnie's calling," KITT said and patched through the link with ease.

"Good afternoon Michael, it appears we meet again under different circumstances. If you want to see Bonnie, Devon or RC alive again, come alone with KITT and do not attempt to get past me," Garthe cried out in a mean and threatining tone.

Michael did a 360 degree turn and headed toward the semi. Now is a good a time as ever for super pursuit mode buddy," Micheal said hastingly. The sound of KITT transforming and accelerating past 100 then 150 then 200 then 250 and finally 300 was reassuring to Michael.

Michael shouted, "What's the anticipated time of arrival?"

KITT responded, "We should be there in 3 minutes Michael at our current rate of speed."

KITT blazed through the sandy area of the desert and Michael pressed the EBS and KITT slowed down and returned to pursuit mode.

"Michael it can't be," KITT cried.

Michael swallowed his lump in his throat and stated, "Its Goliath and Garthe has the upper hand this time buddy"

Garthe then broke through to KITT on the comlink and stated to Michael," Abandon the car and bring it to me or I will kill Devon Miles."

Garthe shouted and Micheal got out and told KITT to drive to Garthe and do what he was told. The guards behind the truck took Michael away and Garthe forced Bonnie into KITT and told her to remove KITT's CPU.

"Bonnie, I can't let you take my cpu" KITT said and KITT's voice was fading slowly by the second, "Booonniee thhiss is nnnott II caannoot permmitt," and KITT was shut off.

Bonnie with the gun to her hand handed the cpu to Garthe who quickly took Bonnie by the arm and Devon into the truck. Bonnie looked at Devon as KITT remained dead and Garthe let Michael go as he put Goliath into 1st gear and plowed into the right side of KITT's body, causing minor damage. The dust blew and the sun began to rise and the hot desert sun began to bother Michael. Goliath sped off with Devon, Bonnie and RC.

With KITT's cpu removed and KITT damaged as well as the semi torn in half, Michael realized the only way to get help would be to get the semi's computer system operational again. Without Bonnie to guide him this would be a daunting task. Michael went under KITT and removed a transmitter. He then went inside and found a frequency and began to transmit on the semi's mainframe back to the Foundation's headquarters. Michael got Laurie at the foundation to send someone out for him and hopefully repair the semi and KITT. Michael realized that KITT's shell had suffered damage and would need repair. Without Bonnie this would not be possible. Without a rebuilt KITT, Michael stood no chance of getting KITT's cpu Devon, Bonnie or RC out of the grips of his worst enemy..Garthe Knight, son of Wilton Knight the man he had come to respected the most in the last four years. At the foundation several hours later, Michael made a tough call for April Curtis, KITT's former mechanic who had been dismissed 3 yrs ago from the foundation when Bonnie came back from her year of studies. April carried resentment towards the Foundation, but Michael decided to take a chance and she came once she heard that Michael needed her.

April viewed KITT and told Michael flat out, "Without KITT's cpu there is no chance I can rebuild the inner part of the car...it needs some kind of basis for memory and that chip is gone."

Desperate, Michael tried to find an answer and then it dawned on him. "Why can't we use KARR's cpu?"

April of course did not know what KARR was and responded, "What is KARR?"

Michael explained that KARR was KITT's predecesor and that Wilton had built KARR but KARR lacked the preservation for human life and was shut down.

"Can you correct that problem if I bring you his components?" Michael said as he began to fear that KARR would wreck havic if operational in any form.

Unfortunately Michael new he had no choice and went near the place where KITT had turbo boosted and shattered KARR's parts. KARR's cpu had that memory chip and Michael began gathering the pieces to put into KITT's shell. KITT was functional to drive, but Michael missed KITT. He gathered the parts and headed back to the semi and the Foundation. April began to incorporate KARR's rebuilt cpu into KITT's shell and Michael held his breath....would KARR help him get KITT back from Garthe?

Michael was nervous as he watched hour by hour as KITT's body became transformed with KARR's components. Devon would be extremely upset that he would even concieve of putting KARR's old scattered parts and chips into KITT. Michael though had only April and the semi tools to deal with and April constantly kept her attention on Michael, who paced and paced until he wore out the semi's plush carpet interior.

"Michael, I am almost done, hand me that laser and I can turn KITT's remaining spare components into a possible memory adapter. KARR will be uncontrolable when he is reactivated," April said as she made some wire cuts and saudered the circutry that KITT had vastly incorporated into his cpu base that was ripped out by Garthe.

"Is it going to be 'KARR' or 'KITT' that is talking April?" Michael asked with a pause.

"Well we will turn him on and find out in a few minutes," April said knowing that her work would be tested momentairly.

Finally the test was done and KARR spoke his first words, "I am the Knight Automated Roving Robot, serial alpha #189218-A." Chills went up Michael's spine as the words echoed off the base of the semi. "Do you not want to use me for your suited purpose Mr. Knight?" Michael jumped and so did April as KARR's congenial side almost seemed to sound sickly.

"April, can you adjust my sensor so I may scan the interior and exterior to formulate a picture." Michael ever so hesitant, began to ask KARR several questions and KARR seemed benevolant to answer each one.

"You get one thing straight KARR, the only reason you are here is to get KITT back and after that you might have to prove you are worth saving," Michael stated.

KARR flashed his red scanner and in a convincing tone said, "Mr. Knight, reactivating me does not mean you will get that inferior production line copy."

Michael told KARR that April had installed a shut down device that would inhibit his ability and shut him down if he became uncontrolable. KARR remained quiet as Michael pulled out of the semi and headed towards the last known area that Goliath had been seen.

Garthe threw Devon and the scientists into a jail and Bonnie was escorted to his main floor in a lush estate off the river with tight security and armed guards. Bonnie, hesitant spitted in Garthe's face. "For that act, you shall suffer my pity. I have a job for you Mrs. Barstow. I want you to incorporate KITT's cpu into my rebuilt Goliath." Bonnie amazed and frightened said that she would never do it. Garthe took her by the hair and told her that Devon Miles would be killed unless she complied.

"I can't do it alone Garthe I am going to need help," Bonnie demanded as Garthe gave her a dissatisfied look.

"Mrs Barstow your existence means little to me. My goal is to make Michael Knight pay for his deceptions. Goliath will be invulnerable and smart. Then Mrs. Barstow I will be able to use the foundation for the resources my father intended me to have."

Bonnie forced herself free and began to gather the tools needed to incorporate KITT's cpu into Goliath's frame. The daunting task required days of preperation, one of the reasons that Garthe decided to shoot for an abandoned estate house rather than keep Goliath out on the road.

"Bring me my sister," he told the guards. Jennifer had been kidnapped off the foundation board two weeks back and had been held by Garthe to live the life he led in his 3 consecutive life sentences in Africa.

"I see my sister is no better for wear then I was groveling at the knees of the rats that became my friends," Garthe said while his voice was sharper and whispier,

"Mark my words my sister, Michael Knight has no way of stopping me and no car and no means of rebuilding his pathetic KITT."

Garthe was confident and gave Jennifer a dismissal look and told the guards to take her away. Upon his arrival at the cell, he came to Devon and asked where April Curtis was. "I have no idea Garthe," Devon said. Garthe threw Devon to the bed and slammed the door.

As Michael and KARR kept driving, Michael told KARR that they had to test some of his features.

Michael said, "lets jump that car."

KARR said, "there is insufficent distance to turbo boost Mr. Knight,"

Michael overrided him and pressed turbo boost and acclerated and jumped the huge car that was heading straight on. But the end of KARR got caught and KARR compensated with thrusters and actived the new laser passive restraint system.

"Mr. Knight I am not going to let you have control of me if you don't adjust to my correct seetings that you see before you."

KARR began instructing Michael on what to do, only for Michael to get fustrated by the lack of concern on KARR' s part.

"You know I really don't need this right now, either you shut up or I have April pull your plug."

KARR became restless but remained silent."How far is it until New Mexico?" Michael asked.

"Arrival time Mr. Knight is 4hrs 22 min," KARR stated.

"Using the super pursuit mode would allow for an arrival time of 2hrs 10 min, Mr. Knight," KARR said.

"Well looks as good a time as any to activate SPM."

K.A.R.R.'s outershell transformed itself as the increase in speed seemed unsettling. Michael, so used to KITT and his witty sense of humor now was depending on a car that still had many flaws. As KARR blazed off into the sunset with Michael, April called into KARR for an update.

"Yo April, any news on Devon or Bonnie?" Michael asked.

"Yes, Garthe is rumored to be in the ocean area near the Washington Space Center, KARR might be able to track it based on airwave transmissions," April said.

Michael signed out and KARR began downloading the information, unaware to Michael that he was increasing his database of information that April had set up in order to compensate for what the Michael and KITT did over two and a half years ago. So Michael rested his eyes and tried to get some sleep as KARR took the autopilot mode and modulated his systems to full strength.

Bonnie and the scientists had integrated KITT's cpu into Goliath and Garthe had recoated the machine with a stronger molecular bonded shell. This time though, Garthe found time to faze out all potential weaknesses including Goliath's weight, which made the frame lighter but the front heavier. Garthe viewed the scientists and Bonnie as they worked hour after hour putting KITT's system into the complex spaces of Goliath.

"Ah, mother I see you have come to witness my greatest triumph," Garthe said as he smoked his favorite, a cuban cigar.

Elizabeth responded, "Your greatest triumph is to eliminate the Foundation for Law and Government. How soon will Goliath be ready with the new cpu my son?"

Garthe, with a gleam in his eye looked at his mother and said, "It is only a matter of a day or two before we are able to use Goliath to our advantage. They will pay for sending Goliath over the cliff. If it were not for the emergency ejection seat, neither Andrienne nor I would have survived the crash."

Elizabeth paused and said, "So where is Andrienne right now Garthe?"

Garthe stared at the grounds and replied, "Her amnesia has not gotten any better in the few weeks. But, she will serve her purpose later as our master plan to destroy the foundation will become reality." Garthe paused and said in a dark voice, "Micheal Knight will die."

As Michael awoke after 2 hours sleep, K.A.R.R. alerted him to April's call. "Mr. Knight, April is calling."

Michael still in a daze answered the call. "Hey April, have you gotten any news on their location?" Michael asked.

"I am downloading some information, but it does not look good Michael. Elizabeth Knight was broken out of jail 2 days ago. I am feeding KARR the video of Goliath crashing the semi, see what you can do with it," April said.

KARR began to analyze it and played it for Michael. As the video played back, Michael began to center in on Goliath hitting KITT.

"KARR, why did Goliath hit the right side of KITT and not the left?"

Michael saw nothing unusual about the angle of the semi being hit, but it seemed to Michael that KITT was spared a hit on the left.

"Mr. Knight, what is the significance of KITT being hit on the left or the right," KARR asked.

Michael paused and said in a low tone, "Wilton Knight had devised a plan in both cars that was only known to Wilton, Devon and myself.

KARR paused and said, "Mr. Knight, what is this plan?"

Michael began to tell KARR that Wilton had established a weak spot in the MBS. The MBS could only cover a given area on the car, even Goliath.

"When we faced Goliath for the first time, I had assumed that the tires could not be covered by the MBS, but I hit the side of Goliath instead. Rubber can not be coated with the MBS. So hitting the right side of KITT would in fact disable the car, but hitting the left would provide an axis break," Michael said.

KARR seemed eager to know this information and said, "Then Mr. Knight, I thought a direct hit into the scanner would be the only way to stop either KITT or myself."

Michael said bluntly, "It will damage your systems but it would not be as effective as hitting your left tire axel. Wilton left that as the only weak spot on either car. Get me April, I have to have her come up with some sort of battering ram that we can use when we go head to head with Goliath."

KARR said in a somewhat scared tone of voice, "Mr. Knight I have reviewed KITT's database on Goliath and have determined that a head on collision would not be advisable."

Michael began to laugh and said, "At least you and KITT agree on one thing."

Garthe had went to get some rest and visited one of the cells.

"How are you Mrs. Wilcox, I see you are resting comfortably."

Rita was exhausted from fighting off the rats in her cell and yelled, "Michael Knight will stop you. You lost the last time you faced him."

Garthe in a lush tone said, "There is only one Mr. Knight. My father bequeathed to me his name and I shall make Michael regret using it in dishonor. My father let me rot for years in prison while he had his mistress on the side, cheating on my mother. That was your mother Rita."

Garthe laughed and continued onward as he got ready to eat breakfast.

"Mother dear, have you set up Michael's distraction yet?" Garthe asked Elizabeth said, "Yes, he should be meeting her any minute."

Garthe began to pace and asked for one of the guards. "Get me Mrs. Knight now!"

Jennifer was brought in and looked towards her mother in disbelief.

"Jenny dear, we need you to help Garthe destroy the foundation for law and government," Elizabeth said.

Jennifer had remembered how Garthe had always hated the fact that Wilton loved her more and that Jennifer held control over the foundation.

"Pick up the phone Jenny and call the headquarters. Tell them you are on vacation and will not be back for another two weeks," Elizabeth said.

Jennifer had never loved her mother and was angry at her for even considering what Garthe was planning. Jennifer placed the call with a gun to her head. Garthe knew that the boards was meeting tomorrow to decide funding issues and without Jennifer or Devon would fall into disaray quickly.

"Mark my words, my father's legacy will be his ultimate downfall," Garthe said in a cold unyielding voice.

RCIII, Devon and Bonnie sat in the cell and told RCIII all about Goliath and Garthe.

RCIII paused and asked, "So this man was Wilton's son? Then why did Wilton do that to him."

Devon answered, "It was to teach him a lesson Reginald. Wilton gave him chance after chance and he never wanted to be a part of the foundation."

Reginald heard someone coming and they all became quiet. Garthe entered the cell and took Reginald and brought him to another room.

"RC, you are going to find Michael and tell him that if he dares find me, he will die. Bring him this and instruct him that when the time is right, I will find him," Garthe stated.

RCIII was blindfolded and driven to the foundation.

Meanwhile Michael attempted to get April on the phone.

"Yo April, what's up?" Michael asked as KARR patched through the transmission.

"Michael its Reginald, he's okay he was let off by Garthe a few minutes ago."

Michael pushed on the pedal and KARR automatically put Michael in pursuit mode.

"What was that for KARR, I usually do that for KITT," Michael asked. KARR responded, "Well I am not KITT, Mr. Knight."

Michael then said, "We'll, I am not Mr. Knight either, you really got to stop calling me that KARR."

Michael laughed and KARR said, "If you say so Mr. Knight."
