![]() ![]() ![]() Christine Steel speaks about Team Knight Rider
Did your military training help you with this role... as in discipline and mental aspects?
No but my Tai Kwan Do training did.
What is the most difficult thing about filming?
I would say the time constraint because we shoot between 15-16 pages a day. We set a precedent with this show. We're an episodic. Usually they run 10 day shooting schedule. We shoot in five days.
Did you ever serve in the marines?
I must say as an actress, that is the toughest role to play, because I have never been in the marines.
On TKR does your car have a boomin' car stereo system?
Of course, baby.
What is the funniest thing done on the set by either you or your castmembers?
I don't know if I can share that info. I'll have to say Duane Davis has to be one of the funniest characters I work There's one episode where he has to pretend he's a different person (undercover). He gets fired from a really crummy job. Well, you'll see it in the show. His reactions are funny.
Does your car have a 'Turbo Boost' feature like on the old Knight Rider?
Yes.
Has driving in Los Angeles helped prepare your role?
Absolutely! With Domino, we would get a lot of honks.
Were you a fan of the original show?
Yes. I watched a few of them. I actually thought David Hasselhoff was cute. David did the right thing for an actor to do; he's fine... I meant he's doing the right thing...
Do you get to do any of your own stunt driving?
Sometimes. I get to do a lot of my own fights. The driving itself, those are left to the professionals. The brilliant professionals who work on the show.
How do you like your fellow TKR cast members?
I love 'em. They're the best. They make the long hours go by quickly. It's great that we all get along. We're very lucky, actually.
Have you actually been able to meet the person behind Domino's voice?
No. But I have met KAT. BEAST is as sweet and protective as he is on the show.
What is the strangest experience you had on the set?
Any time Nick Wechsler's on the set. Nick sometimes goes into his crazy, wacky but fun world.
Did you choose to play in TKR or did they propose the role to you ?
They offered the role to me. And I eagerly accepted.
Do you think TKR will touch and inspire today's generation as much as the original 'Knight Rider' did?
Oh I hope so. I think the aspect of us being on a team and any child or anyone who's played on a team... there's five different personalities, characters but in the end we work together to solve the problem Ifthey can learn this through our show, all the better.
What TKR episode did you most enjoy that we should look for?
Angels in Chains. Seriously. Kathy and I get to have some real conversation and it was just the most absolute fun for me as an actress. I get chained.
What do you believe the target audience is for TKR ?
Those From 6 years old to 25-year-old.
If you had a choice between a small role in a blockbuster or a character role in an indie, which would you choose?
A juicy roll in an independent film. Definitely a character role in an indie.
