Description: The criminal anarchy is hilarious when a foursome of full-time hit men looking to score extra cash kidnap the boss' goddaughter. And when beleaguered wise guy Mel is set up to take the fall, underworld antics and domestic absurdities collide for a working weekend no one will soon forget. Mark Wahlberg, Lou Diamond Phillips, Christina Applegate, Brokeem Woodbine and Antonio Sabato Jr. star in this explosive action comedy.
Review: Apart from the fact that this is a pirated copy (promotional copy, with a semi-transparent waring message scrolling up the screen about every 30 mins), the movie itself is a full-on action flick. It's good to see some Hong Kong style action blast its way into Hollywood. Working on this film was one of the best action movie makers to come out of Hong Kong, John Woo. Other films John Woo has worked on in Hollywood include Face/Off and The Replacement Killers, all hard hitting-in your face explosive action, and The Big Hit is no exception. It has all of Woo's traditional trademarks from fast paced gun slinging to blowing up buildings. Combine this with the comical performance of Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba, Young Guns) and you have yourself a top notch action/comedy on your hands.
Bloopers and Goofs:
* Its amazing how the yellow trans-am seems to repair
itself on the spot!
* During the final fight in the video store, it is too obvious
that they were stunt doubles most of the time.
