                                                   Bits about the flick:-

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene.
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of those two foes,
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their death, bury their parents' strife,
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
Which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

         The basic story line of 'Romeo + Juliet' (as if ye didn't already know!)
                                                Its quite long(ish). So if you wanna skip to the end click  here

                - Right at the beginning there is a brawl at a petrol station between 3 members of each family. Benvolio the leader of the Montague clan (if u like) and Tybalt, the leader of the Capulet clan. They all draw their guns and then it turns into a shoot-out after Tybalt refuses Benvolio's offer of peace: "Peace? I hate the word" - Tybalt
Captain Prince of the local police force steps in and eventually restores peace to the streets of Verona, not without warning the heads of both families (Ted Montague and Fulgencio Capulet) that if such riots should be seen again, the punishment would be death.
                - While all this is happening Romeo is busy hanging on the shores of Verona Beach, writing poetry and moping over his latest love Rosaline, as she doesn't even know he exists: "So glad am I, he was not at this fray" - Caroline Montague  Benvolio rushes over to him, and tries to lighten his load in a game of pool, but he fails in doing so until Romeo's best friend Mercutio shows up and gives out invitations to rich Capulet's masked ball he is holding that very night.
                - Meanwhile, at Capulet's mansion, everyone is preparing for the big party. When Gloria Capulet is getting ready she keeps on dropping hints to her daughter Juliet, that the dashing and acclaimed Dave Paris is going to be there, and perhaps they should have a dance and get things rolling. "I look to like" - Juliet   Juliet at this point is unsure about the whole party idea, but then the Nurse steps in and tells her to go, meet young men and just generally have a good time.
After a lot of persuasion back at the beach, and some drug taking, the Montague lads get Romeo to the party in one piece, nearly unconscious, but in one piece.
                - Romeo is sort of in a daze at the start of the party, but after soaking his head in a basin of water, he is much better, and walks over to an aquarium, where the fish draws his attention. There through the glass he spies the most beautiful woman he has ever seen: "Did my heart love till now?" - Romeo Alas it is Juliet. They stare at each other for a bit, until the Nurse pulls Juliet off to get a dance with Dave Paris. Romeo runs after her, and Juliet tries to retain as much eye contact with him as possible, but so that her mother wouldn't notice.
After the dance Romeo pulls her away and they have a conversation about pilgrims, (Romeo desperate for a kiss at this point). Juliet basically says that pilgrims pray - meaning with their hands pushed together - and Romeo says they should do what pilgrims do, except with their lips - a line or what? Juliet caves and they enjoy a kiss which ends up with them being chased into an elevator where they kiss some more: "You kiss by the book" - Juliet This ends all to soon when the Nurse catches them and drags Juliet off again as her mother craves a word. Romeo chases her (again) and sees her with Lady Capulet, and it seems like all his nightmares have come at once: "She's a Capulet?" - Romeo Juliet looks down from the top of the stairs at him happy as can be until the Nurse tells her he is the son of Ted Montague. Her face crumbles and realises: "My only love sprung from my only hate" - Juliet Mercutio then drags Romeo off as the party has already reached its peak, and the two stare at each other until Romeo disappears out of the mansions front doors.
            - The Montague lads jump in the car and drive off, but Romeo has better ideas, he jumps out of the car and climbs the Capulet walls and lands just below Juliet's window and by the side of the swimming pool (of course!). He looks upon Juliet's window hoping she will come out: "Rise fair sun, and kill the envious moon" - Romeo To his dismay he sees the Nurse at the balcony and Juliet comes from the door beside him. He quickly tries to blend in with the wall and luckily Juliet walks straight past him. She then says her little speech about it doesn't he is a Montague, name's don't matter, "What's in a name?" - Juliet. Romeo then springs on her and they both fall into the pool. The famous balcony scene turns into a pool scene and in all the noise the Capulet security guard comes out. Juliet stands up with a nice big smile and Romeo tries to hide under the water trying desperately to hold his breath. The guard goes away just as Romey comes up gasping for air. Juliet then gets all self conscious about her appearance, but good 'ole Romey cheers her up with a quick snog. "If they find thee they will murder thee" - Juliet    "Let them find me here" - Romeo.  Juliet then forces him to go as the Nurse beckons her (yet again) They jump out of the pool exchanging their vows and a promise of marriage the next day: "A thousand times goodnight". - Juliet.
                - The next day Romeo rushes to Father Laurence to ask if he would marry them that day: "And pray, that thee will consent to marry us today" - Romeo. The father is not to keen on doing this at first, going on about how it was only a day ago he was in love with Rosaline. "Young men's love lie not in thy hearts, but in thine..eyes" - Father Laurence. But after consideration he agrees to it believing the marriage will end the feud between the two houses. The Nurse then goes to get the news from Romeo, with a warning not to muck Juliet about. She then returns home and plays a little game with Juliet, letting her antagonize over whether they are to be wed or not. "What news?" - Juliet. She is of course overjoyed and later that day Juliet Capulet becomes Juliet Montague.
                - After the wedding Romeo rushes to Verona beach to find Mercutio and Tybalt about to do battle. Tybalt then demands that Romeo fights him, but Romeo can't as now they are related, but of course he can't tell Tybalt that. "Turn and draw" - Tybalt  Tybalt starts to beat him up anyway, but Mercutio steps in and throws Tybalt onto some glass smashing it. He is just about to finish him off when Romeo steps in and stops Mercutio. Tybalt seeing his chance rams a piece of broken glass into Mercutio's side, thus of course killing him: "A plague on both your houses!" - Mercutio. Tybalt speeds off with his two mates closely followed by Romeo seeking revenge. Romeo bashes his car into Tybalt's causing it to spin and roll down the road, killing them inside except for Tybalt who pulls a gun on Romeo. Romeo dares him to shoot him saying he must go with Mercutio, "Either thou, or I, or both must go with him!" - Romeo  ending up in Tybalt dropping his gun and Romeo shooting him with it: "I am fortunes fool!" - Romeo. Realising he will die for his crime Romeo rushes to Father Laurence's cell unsure of what to do.
Back at the scene of the crime Benvolio tries to explain to Captain Prince, but Gloria Capulet thinks Romeo should die for his actions. "Romeo slew Tybalt, Romeo must not live" - Gloria Capulet. On the other hand Ted Montague reckons Romeo should live as he carried out the law on Tybalt as he was the one who killed Mercutio. After consideration on both parts the Prince decides that Romeo will be banished from Verona for the rest of his life.
                - Back at the Fathers cell Romeo is displeased to say the least at what his fate brings him: "Banishment? Say death" - Romeo.  The Nurse then comes to the cell saying that Juliet is very upset. The father then tells Romeo to go to her room and cheer her up a little, and at day break go to Mantua until he can think of a way to bring him back.
Juliet is very happy to see her lord and then they embark on some evening activities, and then fall asleep until morning. When the morrow comes Juliet doesn't want Romeo to go, but then realises he must when the Nurse interrupts them saying her mother is coming. He quickly gets dressed and climbs down from her balcony, and runs off to Mantua: "Window let light in, and let life out" - Juliet.  Her mother then tells her the awful news her father has planned for her, which is to be wed to Dave Paris in two days. She protests to this immensely, but her father gets very angry pushing everyone about and telling her if she will not marry him, he will give Juliet to his friend who will do things with her. Juliet crying at this point asks her mother for help, but: "Do as thy will, for I am done with thee" - Gloria Capulet.
                - The next day Juliet goes to Father Laurence's cell to beg for his help or she shall kill herself.  "I long to die" - Juliet  The father then gives her a potion which when she takes will make her look and feel dead. Her family will then lay her to rest in the great Capulet Monument and then carry on with their lives. The father will then send Romeo letters telling him of their plan, and he will then go to the monument where Juliet will awake, and then the two can live happily ever after in Mantua, or wherever takes their fancy. A good plan, no? Juliet, the night before her wedding to Dave Paris takes the potion, and then as planned, she is laid to rest in Capulet monument. However, Romeo in Manuta fails to receive the fathers letters as he doesn't see the 'We called but you weren't in'  note left at Romeo's place by the postal service. So, after receiving word from Baltashar that his lady is dead,  "I defy you stars!" - Romeo  Romeo rushes to her side minutes before it is time for her to awake. He says his goodbyes to her and reaches for the poison he brought from the Apothecary earlier that day. (Really sad bit <sniff>) Romeo kisses Juliet's hand, which is laid upon her stomach, and her eyelids flutter, her then kisses her forehead and her fingers twitch. He then turns his back on her and takes the poison just as Juliet awakes and puts her hand upon his shoulder. Romey can't believe it, but alas he has seconds to live. "What is here?" - Juliet   Juliet lays him down by her side and bursts into tears, Romeo is dead. She looks around and picks up Romeo's gun, and blows her brains out.  Could there be a sadder tale? GO RENT THIS FILM!

Some will be pardoned,
And some will be punish'ed.
 For never was a story of more woe,
Than this of  Juliet, and her Romeo.
