I don't expect much from the movie--except to sit back, relax, and enjoy a good laugh or two. I don't expect to see much of Steve, either. Oh well--a little Steve is better than no Steve!!!

I have to say I saw a great commercial for The Wedding Singer today with Steve actually talking. I hope that my movie theater gets all of his soon to be released films & for more than a week. My movie theater is kind of annoying like that.

No, no, no, no, no...

The Immortals is a lame Eric Roberts movie that Steve was supposed to be in. I swa it, he was not. He was also supposed to be in The Grifters, as John Cusacks' boss. He was on the cutting room floor. But the title of Stanly's new film was changed into "The Imposters"

{Thanks for the correction. I had previously posted about my error, but it helps to have reminders. Marni}

Subject: Is there a song called Steve Buscemi???

From: MrWolf5

Hey everybody!

Does anybody know where to find the song called "Steve Buscemi"? I heard it's by a band called Dystopia One and that Steve is on the cover of the album the song is on. Does anybody know the name of that album? I can only find one album by this band and it has nothing at all to do with Steve. Maybe I got the band name wrong or something. HELP!!! I'd really appreciate any information. Thanks!

I can't wait for The Wedding Singer to open. I keep seeing the previews with Steve dancing. I've been dying for a new Steve movie. I taped the Drew Carey episode, I just wish he would have been on it more. Has anyone seen the Mad About You episode or The Adventures of Pete and Pete episodes? I haven't and I was just wondering what people thought about the episodes. Also, I just bought Parting Glances. I got it at Best Buy. I'd been looking for that movie everywhere. It's hard to believe that that's Steve's first starring role. He's a quite amazing actor.

Well, sorry for rambling on but nobody I know even know's who Steve Buscemi is so it's cool to hear from other fans of my favorite actor.

Fyi, Airheads was on Comedy Central earlier this evening, and may be repeating on the West Coast. I was not aware, until reading the mailing list archives that he was in it. Funny character, but not quite him, I don't think.

Mike Bazini, member of Dystopia One can be reached at Dys1@aol.com. He will, of course, be able to tell you the name of the album (which I don't recall at this time). I have a copy of the single that he sent me last year before it went public. There's also a picture of Mike with Steve Buscemi on my page (URL below).

The band is Dystopia One like you thought, and the album is THE BUSCEMI TAPES (á la THE ANDERSON TAPES, I presume). I haven't heard it, and I don't even know what kind of music Dystopia One is, so if anyone could give some info about the band itself, it would be appreciated.

And btw, on the single "Wail" by Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion there's a song called "Buscemi", but I don't know if it has anything to do with Steve Buscemi.

>Has anyone seen the Mad About You episode or The Adventures of Pete and Pete episodes? I haven't and I was just wondering what people thought about the episodes.

Well, I've seen the MAY episode a long time ago (sometime around '93 or '94 I'd guess), so I don't remember it that well, and at that time I didn't know who Steve Buscemi was, so... I do remember the plot of the episode and who Steve played, but that's about it.

I saw one of the episodes of PETE&PETE (which is a throughly great series, if you can, see it) where Steve was. He played the father of one of the characters, and he was the career guidance counsellor (or whatever it is) in the high school. Great episode, and not just because of Steve.

PETE & PETE has had other interesting actors in it, too, like Iggy Pop. And the regular actors are great, especially Stu the Bus Driver and Endless Mike Hellstrom (can't remember the names of the actors).

I have a copy of the single and it sounds pretty strange. There isn't much singing, it's almost like a spoken word deal, with some background music (which is somewhat like electronica). It's definitely different!

From: MrWolf5

Hi everybody!

First off I want to say thank you to everybody who wrote me back about the Steve song and about the t.v. episodes he was in. As Seth Gecko said in From Dusk Til Dawn "You are all in my cool book", or something like that.

I saw a preview for The BIg Lebowski. It was played during The Wedding Singer special on Comedy Central. It looks cool even if Steve wasn't in it. But he is!!!!!!! I can't wait! The other actor from Fargo is in it also but I can't remember his name. You know, Steve's partner who rarely spoke.

Also, there's a small picture of Steve in the issue of spin magazine with Marilyn Manson on the cover. He's in his Map-to-the-Stars Eddie outfit. The magazine says something about Indie films on the cover or something so I picked it up, turned to that section and screamed "WOOHOO!"

Hi there!

When I went to Best Buy to get the new Pearl Jam album, I thought I'd ask and just see if they had a copy of Parting Glances. The lady said they had one copy left and it was under drama. The Best Buy where I live won't do special orders. It was 25.99 but worth it. I tried to order it from www.reel.com but it was back-ordered forever so I just canceled it. But I did get In The Soup from www.reel.com. In The Soup is great.

Have you seen Parting Glances yet? I'd like to hear from anyone who has. Steve's character Nick is gay and dying of A.I.D.'s. Nick is in love with his ex-boyfriend Michael who comes to take care of him but who is already involved with another guy Robert. We get to here Steve sing a really weird song though. Poor little Nick, so innocent, so ill, so brave!

Hi, me again,

I just wanted to tell everyone that if I take a few days to respond to your mail please forgive me. I'm still living in the dark ages and I don't have my own computer so I'm using my boyfriend's computer. I usually get to use his computer every other day or so but sometimes it could be a few days. He saves the letters for me until I can read them or he prints them out for me. I love being on this list so please don't think I'm being rude if I don't respond right away.

Thanks-um- I guess I should write something about Steve in this letter. Um, well, if you watch Reservoir Dogs, in the scene where Mr. Pink and Mr. White are talking, watch as Steve picks up the chair to sit down. As he picks the chair up his cigarrette is in his hand but the scene cuts to his face as he sits down and suddenly it's in his mouth. I know it's stupid but I had to make this letter a little bit worth reading.

Tricia, yet again!

Steve's partner in _Fargo_ was played by Peter Stormare. Mr. Stormare will also be in _Armageddon_ with Steve. This means that the two have now worked on three pictures together.

The name of Steve's partner in Fargo is Peter Stormare. He was also seen in Lost World, (the guy who shocked all the lizard-like-dinosaurs that eventually ate him), and Playing God, (the Russian ganster). He is definately someone to keep on eye on!

Hello,

This is so fun!! Anyway I know this is supposed to be the Buscemi Mailing list but I have to say yes I definitly will keep an eye out for more Peter Stormare movies. It looks like he'll be good in The Big Lebowski. Thanks for his name I was just just too lazy to check my Fargo credits at the time. He's quite interesting to watch even when he's just sitting there spaced out like in Fargo.

I got the Fargo snow globe, it's the scene where Stormare's character is putting Buscemi in the wood chipper. The snow is all red and bloody and flies everywhere and Margie the cop has her gun drawn on him. You see this little foot sticking out of the woodchipper. It came with the letterbox version of Fargo. The letterbox has a behind the scenes segment and interviews with Joel and Ethan Cohen, Peter Stormare, Steve Buscemi, Frances McDormand ,and others. It's really cool. It was about 35 dollars.

That's interesting: I guess there are a variety of snowglobes available. The only one I've seen is....now that I'm trying to describe it, I'm having trouble remembering. Suffice it to say that it had Margie and another character--not Buscemi--and it was not the woodchipper scene. I guess if Steve had been in it I would have payed more attention.

Has anyone seen other snowglobes?

That is *so* cool! I've seen a different Fargo snow globe. It was the scene where Marge is checking out the dead body in the snow, like in the movie poster. There is blood around the body, but the actual snow isn't bloody.

Does anyone know if there are any other Fargo snow globes besides these two? Maybe there is one that has our beloved Steve Buscemi, and not just his foot!

Tricia, where did you find this particular snow globe? I think I'd like to get one too.

Hey there everybody!

To everbody who wrote to ask where I got my snow globe with the woodchipper scene, I got it at Suncoast Motion Picture Company in the mall. If you have one of those where you live you could see if they have any left over from Christmas that didn't sell. They also carried them at Best Buy but only the scene that's on the cover of the movie. Those are the only two that I've seen. If you go to Suncoast look for them in the Letterbox movie section, that's where I found mine.

I just bought The Wedding Singer soundtrack yesterday. The CD has a picture of Steve on the back holding a microphone and inside it has a picture of him playing a guitar.
