There are a number of films that he has a substantial to major role in
that should be seen.
1. Parting Glances - This was his first major role. Incredibly hard to
find for rental. (The role is smaller than it sounds, but is crucial
to the film. He's probably on screen for 1/3 of the film at most.)
2. Mystery Train - Three stories that all take place on one night in
Memphis. Steve has a substantial part in the last 3rd of the film.
3. Twenty Bucks - The story of a Twenty Dollar Bill. Steve's portion has
generally been highlighted in all the reviews that I've read. Works
great with Christopher (Back to the Future) Lloyd.
4. Trees Lounge - Steve's own baby. He wrote it, directed it, and stars
in it. A view of what his life might have been like had he not acted.
5. Heart - Story about a boxer who's trying to make a comeback (if I
remember correctly). Steve is the boxer's manager.
6. Living in Oblivion - Incredibly humorous view at a day in the life on
the set of an independent film. Steve stars, along with Dermot
Mulroney and James LeGros.
That should get you started. After these and the ones you've already
seen, you're relegated to small roles. Also, try go get ahold of the
episodes of The Adventures of Pete and Pete. They are humorous, and two
of the three he was in have him in a large role.

I was reading an interview online (found at
www.theslant.com/arts_media/articles/buscemi.html)
in which Steve was asked: "There's an internet site that has you as a
head of a church. Does that freak you out?"
He replied: "[laughs] A church? I don't go on the computer. Yeah, it
does freak me out."
This interview is really neat....Steve fans should check it out!!!

Subject: *spoiler* Armageddon Book
WARNING....THE FOLLOWING LINES MIGHT SPOIL ARMAGEDDON FOR YOU!
OK...I just got back from Kroger's. This grocery store had the "Armageddon"
book...ya know, like the script. Well, in the book, when Steve goes "crazy"
on the rock and that chubby guy in the Armadillo flies off in space, Steve
starts singing "See you on the Dark Side of the Moon" and "It's the End of the
World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)". In the movie, if you remember, he
just says (rather lovingly) "goodbye Max."
It makes me wonder who changed the lines.....I kinda hope Steve changed them,
because this way he didn't seem so "inhuman" and totally psychotic. His
"Goodbye Max" made him seem sincere. If he would've sung, it would've been
VERY FUNNY, but it makes my heart glow when I think of how he said in such a
sweet voice: "goodbye max."

Subject: some steve questions
Hey everyone,
I just have a few questions that I was curious about.
Does anybody have info on The Real Blonde video release or Louis and Frank?
Has anybody heard anything about a release date for The Imposters?
Any luck with Rockhound merchandise?
Does anybody know of a site with any new pictures of Steve? I mean not
neccessarily recent pictures but just some pictures that aren't the same ones
everyone has seen a thousand times?
Thanks a bunch guys!

Last I heard about Louis et Frank was that the French company that is
distributing it has no plans for a US release. This came straight from
Rockwell, who directed the film. I believe the countries he mentioned as
having tentative distribution plans were France, Japan, Germany, and one
other European country. Basically, those of us in the US are out of luck.
I haven't heard or seen anything about The Real Blonde. However, there
isn't much to Steve's role. I managed to catch the film in while it was
in theatres. I think he has 10 minutes on screen, at best.

I looked this movie up on the IMDB (Internet Movie Database) the other
day. It should have had its premiere at one of the film festivals. It
looks as though it will be tentatively released in the US on 8 Oct, 1998.
Don't get your hopes up too far. This is an independent film, as far as I
know, and they don't get wide releases.

Hi all!
Although we all love our boy Steve, we may not like all of the same movies. I
personally like Adam Sandler, and Steve's done 3 movies with him now, "Billy
Madison," "Airheads," and "The Wedding Singer." I thought all 3 were
hilarious, but if Adam Sandler grates on your nerves, I wouldn't recommend
them.
Kym has a really good list at her site of the movies he's been in and the size
of his part....uh, role. [I'm referring to the Steve Buscemi Worship Page]
I think "Con Air" and "Fargo" would have to be my favorites. And if you can
get your hands on "Ed and His Dead Mother" and "In the Soup," both are a must
for Buscemi fans.
Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents,

I know the feeling. I was working at a movie theater as a clown in the
lobby when Big Lebowski came out. I didn't work the last weekend they
were showing it, I came back and the huge cardboard standups were gone,
we asked the owner and she said she threw them out. Darn the luck! But
my co worker felt so bad for me he managed to get ahold of one of the
little promo pins with him on it. And my mom got me some Armageddon
promos, too bad his pic isn't on them =(

This is in response to an earlier e-mail titled "Armageddon" in which someone
(sorry...I don't remember who) said that Steve should get a face lift.
I have noticed that Steve has put on a little weight, but I guess that is
natural considering he isn't exactly YOUNG anymore :(
A good example is comparing him now (from all the tv specials and interviews
we saw him on recently) to his role in Fargo, in which he was definitely
SKINNY. I still think he looks damn fine, but he does has his faults. Some
people might suggest a fact lift, some people (like my mom) would suggest
getting his teeth fixed.
We all have our opinions as to how we want people to change, but I happen to
like Steve for what he is--unique. (Even if that means he doesn't look like,
say, Brad Pitt)

The person in the Got Milk? commercial is Sean Whalen. The two movies
that I know for sure he's been in are The People Under the Stairs (he
played Roach, if I remember right) and That Thing You Do (he played
some geeky high school kid -- very small role). I think because he's
got small parts in a lot of movies and has a "distinctive" look,
people mistake him for Steve. However, I can assure you that it is
NOT Steve Buscemi in the Got Milk? commercial
I'm not certain how the Armageddon book in question managed to get

Subject: Armageddon: Director's Cut and Online Poll
Hey, Everyone!
I just got my Entertainment Weekly in the mail (Spice Girls cover) and noticed
an interesting little tid-bit. It seems Lawrence Tierney (from Reservoir
Dogs) was supposed to play Bruce Willis' father in Armageddon, but his scene
was cut. To quote the article,
"Meanwhile, Bay insists he'll restore Tierney's scene, along with others
(including some Steve Buscemi ad-libs) for - gulp - Armageddon, The Director's
Cut."
Pretty cool!
Also, there's a poll at the following Armageddon site:
http://countdown.8i.com/Countdowns/Armageddon/armageddon.html
where you can name your favorite character.
The current standings are:
Harry - 274, Grace - 94, A.J. - 429, Rockhound - 183, and Bear -60.
I think it's cool that Steve's ahead of Liv Tyler, but COME ON PEOPLE!!!! WE
CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT! Let's all get on that site and throw those numbers
up a bit! I'd love to hear what Mr. Ben "Ego" Affleck would have to say if
Steve turned out to be more popular than he was!

Hey everyone,
I just had to respond to the face lift letters. Yeah so maybe he's getting a
little saggy in the face and neck and putting on some weight. Who cares?
He's going to be 41 this year and I think he is still gorgeous. I wouldn't
change a thing. He's getting older, so are we. He's human like the rest of
us. I'm on this list first and foremost for his talent in acting and
directing, the looks are an added plus. What amazes me is he still has all
his hair.
If you think Steve could use a face-lift, there's nothing wrong with that,
different people have different preferences. I just had to put my two cents
in.

I would, too, as I picked up the paperback novel at the store the other
day, and it has nothing on any of the actors. It does have some black and
whites, but only one has Steve in it, and his face is angled so that it's
mostly in shadows.
I did see Armageddon on Friday night at the local drive-in as the first of
a triple-feature. I liked it a lot, mostly because of Steve and Bruce. I'm
not sure it would've been quite as appealing to me without them. The third
movie played was The Wedding Singer, which I enjoyed seeing again. I still
didn't see Steve's name in the credits, even though they listed the actors
who played David's (his) brother and the band members.
While at SuperTarget tonight, I asked one of the clerks working in the toy
department about Armageddon action figures. He went and asked a manager,
who basically said they may get them in, they may not. My understanding of
what he said was that they're shipped stuff, they don't really order it. :(
I couldn't find any Armageddon stuff at all there, not even the soundtrack,
which, if you're a classic rock fan, should be a must-have.
Has anyone won any Armageddon stuff from McDonald's? My sister won the
poster, but I've had little luck in even getting the game pieces. I'm
thinking about trying to talk her out of it, although I think I'd rather
have the Taco Bell Chihuahua she has that says 'Here lizard, lizard, lizard.'
The picture on the cover of the paperback appears to be quite different
from the posters and cardboard standups, most particularly in that one can
tell who's on the book.
