Subject: poem
history class was boring yesterday so I wrote a poem instead of paying
attention. oops....oh well. Here goes.
Ode to Steve
You were great as Mr. Pink
Better than in Barton Fink.
Steve was sexy as Mr. shhh
Women loved looking at his tush.
Trees Lounge never made it big
To buy it; in your pockets you must dig.
In drag you did decide to dress
all the guys you did impress.
But we liked you better as Rockhound
Standing on that great big mound
your lines you may flub or miss
but for that we won't send you to the abyss
On con-air we thought you would kill
the little girl; but it wasn't in your will
Her you kept alive
While the plane took a dive.
May your movies always be available
So new fans can be pulled onto the table.
As a betnik bartender you did
entertain us in the movie's mid.
with small parts you did start
Hollywood now casts your parts.
Long live our man Steve
Your love around us you do weave.
Well whatda think.....It is my first poem in almost a year.

scene if I remember correctly. Later, she is holding "her son" in the
film while getting ice cream from Steve. "Her son" is Steve's real-life
son. MH}

I don't think Fargo sucks. I like it a lot. I like the scenery and the
accents and of course Steve Buscemi. Maybe it's because I'm Australian
and don't get to see much snow where I live but it is also a Coen bros
flick and I really like their work.
I've started working my way through Mr Buscemi's filmography and I
watched Trees Lounge the other night. It's a fine piece of film making
but not everyone I know could watch it. It was so nice to just sit back
and watch him do his thing but towards the end I had my head in my hands
really feeling sorry for poor Tommy. I really liked the final scene
when he's sitting back at the bar and you can see a sort of realisation
spread across his face as if he has suddenly caught a glimpse of his own
future. A very nice bit of acting I thought aferwards.
I'm also about to watch sooner or later Barton Fink. Is Buscemi's part
in this flick bigger than the Miller's Crossing part?
Armageddon is being released here on the 20th. All you Buscemi fans out
there take care now.
Rochelle.

I honestly don't understand how you guys can say that Fargo sucked! I
mean, do you just not like that *type* of film? What didn't you like
about it specifically? I thought the writing, directing, and acting
were brilliant! It was hysterically funny, *and* there was sex and
violence. What more could you want? ;-)
I admit I'm biased, having grown up in North Dakota, I know that's a big
part of why I think it's so funny. That scene where Steve buries the
suitcase in the snow, then looks around and sees nothing but snow...
ROTFLMAO!! That scene felt very real! And yes, people do talk that way!
So there are my reasons for loving Fargo, I'm interested in everyone
else's opinions.

all the mail, but I just wanted to try and send a message to let you all
know that you can vote for Steve at Entertainment Weekly Online as one
of the 25 greatest actors of the 90's. So far, he hasn't shown up in the
top 25, but I know that he can! So go vote!

The poem was great, better than I could've done. Write more!
Fargo was excellent. I really liked it. I thought it was pretty bad the
first time I saw it, but it was the kind of movie that just grew on me, you
know? Also, it wasn't true, despite what they said in the beginning.
Today I went to a movie poster shop and looked for anything to do with Steve.
I found a still of him in his space suit from Armageddon, so of course I
bought it! I also saw a still of him and two other guys (I forgot exactly
who) from the Big Lebowski. I didn't buy that one.
I thought it was cute that on the Countdown to Armageddon show thing, he said
he loved his space suit and would wear it home from time to time. Did anyone
else think that was cute?

OK, OK...I have to admit that the Minnesota accent thing was pretty
funny...but theres only so much that you can take...YAH...My mom still
gets shivers at the sound...
But there are just so many more reasons why it really wasn't that great
of a movie. People were like:the script, the plot, the dialogue...but
the plot? I mean, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The dialogue
was cool but that's always good in a Coen Bro movie. If it weren't for
the fact that Steve was in the movie for more than 15 min(unlike millers
crossing and barton fink)I would have turned it off from sheer
annoyance. To say the least, it wasn't my favorite Coen film. So there
are my reasons...

Subject: An End to the Fargo thing
I don't know about anyone else, but I am kinda sick of hearing about this
"Fargo" thing....some people like it....some don't. Who cares??? Everyone
has their opinion!
{This is why I ask that the subject line reflects the content of the
message. That way, people that are tired or uninterested in a thread can
just delete it. Now back to Jennifer:}
I think alot of people are loosing the key idea of the movie. Actually...the
2 key ideas why the critics liked it:
1. It is from the Coen brothers. This came as a shock, because the Coen
brothers had to tone done their usual "outrageous" style to make this movie
seem like a "true" story.
2. This is considered an independent film, even though it hit mainstream and
kept on moving up!!! If you've ever seen some of those independent films,
they can be pretty crappy---don't get me wrong, I appreciate what the film
makers are doing, but sometimes there is no hope for them.
Bottom line---speaking from a critic's point of view---the movie made it big
because it was an off-the-wall, funny, independent film with great acting.
And sometimes....that's all a film needs.

butt...heck...it's still fine!

The scene where Steve gets thrown across the room buck nekkid was,
unfortunately, done by a stunt double. However, you get a really good view of
his butt in "In the Soup." Anyone looking for naked Steve should definitely
rent that movie (you'll understand why after you see it!)

Hi --
I've come across that pic a few times.... hee, hee, hee, um ... but,
never on purpose! Honest! But, anyway I really wrote to ask if anyone
else has used a search engine to find new things about Steve only to
have several links to porn sites show up. Anyone? When I tried to see
if they had any *real* nude pics of Steve, I found out that you have
to become a member of their porn site and pay a fee. I felt dirty just
having gone that far! ;-) They probably just have that same ol'
picture of Steve's cute butt that we've seen before. But, what if they
put Steve's head on other men's bodies -- that'd be a trip to see.
Later,
Kelly
