Subject: Important information about list
Date: Feb 14, 1998
From: Marni
Hi Everyone,
Because I have been, in effect, sending out 50 messages each time I send
out one post to the entire list, I have found a new site that is set up
specifically for mailing lists. What this means is that there is no
longer the fear that my list will be shut down by my own system
administrators because of my spamming the system.
To send a message to the list, send it to:
trees-lounge@majordomo.net
This new address will enable me to know that the message is for the list.
All private messages to me should be sent to: hagerm01@student.ucr.edu
If you want to have something done administratively, such as a temporary
hold on your subscription for vacations, send the mail to:
trees-lounge-request@majordomo.net OR owner-trees-lounge@majordomo.net
I realize that this is a lot of information, but there are a few good
things to this new system. One is the lack of spam. Another, and more
important one, is that the mail can now be configured to be replied to
directly to the author and/or the list at the touch of a button. Trust
me, you'll find it much nicer once you see what I'm talking about. ;-)

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know that my archives site was chosen by
one of those internet recommendation groups. Ok, so this isn't a great
achievement to me. But, we can always hope that it will get the list
more members.
I saw _The Wedding Singer_ last night with my boyfriend. I really liked
it, but I did zone out in a few places. I'll write more on the subject
of this movie in a separate post.
I also bought the soundtrack today. All I can say is that I definitely
think they could have done a double CD like _Apollo 13_ and _Forrest
Gump_ did. But, some of the songs on it are really great.

Hey all. I saw The Wedding Singer last night (Valentine's Day date with
my hubby) and it was very good. Steve's part was pretty small, but
worth seeing (of course). When I was leaving the theatre, someone said,
"That guy with the f*cked-up teeth was hilarious -- who is that guy?" I
nearly yelled, "That was Steve Buscemi, you dolt!"
Before the show, I noticed that one of the guys behind the concession
stand was wearing a pin advertising The Big Lebowski. Incredibly
enough, it was a picture of Steve as Donny, holding the bowling ball. I
begged the guy to give me the pin, but he wouldn't. I offered him $2
and he finally gave in! Then I saw a life-sized cardboard cut-out of
the same shot of Steve and another advertisement for Armageddon on the
way into the theatre to see The Wedding Singer. It was definitely a
"Steve night." :)
My Valentine's Day couldn't have been much better! Go see The Wedding
Singer, everyone...

My brother works at Best Buy, and according to him, they should be able to
order a copy for you from another location (or perhaps they have some in a
warehouse somewhere) -- you should ask.

Hi everyone,
A digest edition of the mailing list is now available for those of you
that would rather get everything in just a few emails. If you want
this, send an email to me letting me know that you'd like to be switched
over.
Also, you *must* start sending the email posts for the list to:
trees-lounge@majordomo.net
Thanks,

Hi everbody!
This is mainly to Jennifer about Parting Glances. No I don't live in Dayton I
live in Lancaster, California. Let me know what's going on and I will try to
help you find a copy. It took forever for me to get it but it's worth it.
I'll look for it around where I live and maybe we can work something out. You
could try www.reel.com but that's where I first tried and it was back-ordered
but who knows, maybe they got it in since then.
To everyone else Hi and I'll keep the rest of you posted on finding Parting
Glances in case you want it to.

There is a site that links up to a page for ordering _Parting Glances_.
The site is:

I hope this helps everyone in their quest to get ahold of one of the rare
films.

Steve has sung in movies before.
Like his looks, he can sound good ("Somebody to Love") or bad ("Con
Air").
I think he was singing bad on purpose in "The Wedding Singer" because of his
character. I remember watching him in "Somebody to Love" and thinking, hey,
he's got a nice voice!
It's a shame they cut his big Mambo number out of Fargo.... (just
kidding!)

What movie does he sing "Somebody To Love" in ?
{I believe that Puckawuck was referring to his having sung IN _Somebody to
Love_, as opposed to his having sung the song "Somebody to Love."}

Hey all,
I ordered PARTING GLANCES from www.reel.com on Jan. 30th, and I have
yet to get it. I e-mailed them and they said that it was back ordered
and if they couldn't find me a copy in 8 weeks they automatically
cancel the order. I think that if they know that they don't have it
readily available then they shouldn't have it listed. Soon, I'll be
checking my local BestBuy! ;)
Steve really does have a nice singing voice; a couple of months ago I
read an interview with Stanley Tucci and he said that in THE IMPOSTORS
Steve will be playing -- you guessed it -- a singer! Maybe he'll be a
smoothie crooner this time! :)
Even though I highly doubt that it will be on in my area, what
TV/Cable station will be showing the Steve episode of "Miami Vice"?
{FX - Fox's cable station - is the station that should be showing the
episode of _Miami Vice_.}

Hey,
That's funny, as soon as I sent y'all the letter about my PARTING
GLANCES video being back ordered they (www.reel.com) send me a message
saying that it's on its way! I don't know if they only order one or if
they completely restock, so now might be the time to see if they have
any more in.

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently going through the internet looking for new stuff, and I
found a site about the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They have a song
called "Buscemi" on their CD single of a song called "Wail." Does anyone
know if this is about Steve? If it is, do you have the lyrics?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm not sure if it's nameb by Steve
Buscemi, and as far as I know, it's instrumental, so no lyrics.
My sister has the single, so I can tell more about it after I've listened
to it.
