Hi all,

Just got word from Mike Bazini, lead singer of Dystopia One, that they have a new website: www.dystopiaone.com where you can get an .mp3 of the song, "Steve Buscemi." Check it out when you get the chance.

I finally got to see it. I was nearly in tears from laughing so hard before the opening credits were even over with. Great movie, but I wanted to see more of Steve.

But then again, don't we all? *grin* I'll definitely be picking up the soundtrack tomorrow.

I'll definitely be there when it comes out. I'm going to try and be there when _The Real Blonde_ opens up too. We'll see where TRB is playing by me. Of course, I did drive an hour and 45 minutes to Los Angeles just to see _Living in Oblivion_ on opening night. I would have done the same for _Trees Lounge_, but I had family emergencies that prevented me.

From: RRoux2@aol.com

Hey there everybody,

I just wanted to tell everyone that in the new issue of Premiere magazine (the one with Skeet Ulrich and three other actors on the cover) there is an article on The Big Lebowski. Jeff Bridges took a camera and took pictures of the actors on the set. There's a picture of Steve outside a bowling alley with Peter Stormare. He's wearing a hat and sunglasses and he's picking his ear!

I was just asked by someone if Steve's nude scene was done by him or if a body double was used. I hadn't ever thought about it, to be quite honest. Does anyone know?

From: Kelly

Hi,

If you're asking about the scene in FARGO, I believe that a body double was used. Maybe not as much for a better looking body, but for the stunt work (he did get thrown across the room, naked -- ouch!). How do I know it wasn't Steve? Call me obsessed, but one day I decided that I had to know, and watched the scene at slo-mo. So, I'm pretty sure it wasn't him.

OK, I'm pissed -- I just found out the THE REAL BLONDE isn't opening here (boring Milwaukee) tomorrow. I pray that it'll be out here the next week & I get to see it & THE BIG LEBOWSKI, back to back. Although, it may never get here since THE GINGERBREAD MAN never did -- I still don't know why that was! So, everyone that sees it tomorrow, please tell us about it. About Steve & his part, that is.

Oh, and anyone who has the FX channel and would like to tape the "Miami Vice" Steve episode for me Friday is welcome to! Just kidding (not really) ;D ! Anyways, anyone who happens to see that, please tell us about Steve in it.

And who else is irritated that when E! showed the BIG LEBOWSKI premiere party there was no Steve to be found! He was there -- why didn't they show him? I'm starting to think that E! has something against him. When they showed some of the WEDDING SINGER premiere they had the nerve to show Jon Lovitz, but not Steve! Jon Lovitz ??!!! And, when they did a piece on ARMAGEDDON they talked to what seemed like every cast member but him! They even spoke to Peter Stormare and Jessica Steen (Stern?)!!! What's up with the up with that?! I'm glad I got that off my chest! :D

Subject: Steve nude

From: Marni Hager

Hi Everyone,

When I first read Liisa's post about nudity and a body double, my mind instantly flashed to Alex Rockwell's _In the Soup_. There were actually two places that I can think of off the top that Steve's character is nude. One is too big a spoiler to those who haven't seen the film, so I'm deliberately leaving it out. The second is when he's in the bathtub, gets startled by the guy, and jumps out of the tub. From what I can remember, I highly doubt that they used a body double for the scene. As I recall, they had a cut away from Steve, then back to him, but they always moved the camera in some way to show his face. Not only that, but this is an indie film. Besides, Steve is in great shape, so why should he have a double? ;-)

If the post was referring to Fargo, I have no clue and would be interested in hearing.

Finally, as long as we're on the subject of doubles, does anyone know if there was a double for the scene where Mr. Pink's head slams into the car windshield?

There's good news and bad news for those in the Los Angeles area. I was checking out the calendar section of the LA Times, and found that only 3 theaters in all of LA are showing the film this weekend. The special engagement screenings (the paper's words, not mine) are being held at the Beverly Center Cineplex, a Santa Monica theater, and a Century City theater. Needless to say, I'll be driving the hour and a half to see the film this weekend, possibly tomorrow. The only question is whether or not my boyfriend or my mother will be joining me.

I'll rewatch my copy of it as soon as I get the chance and let everyone know about it. It's ironic that I got ahold of it a little over a week before it aired again.

Actually, I recall flipping the stations at home, and stumbling upon him being interviewed by them when _Living in Oblivion_ came out. I certainly can't be the only person that remembers this even vaguely. I'm not surprised that they didn't interview him for _The Wedding Singer_ since he's not an integral part of the film. I'll assume that Lovitz was in there because he's a former SNL alum. During the piece on _Armageddon_, I'd be willing to wager that he was busy working on some new film that we have yet to hear about. The fact that he wasn't shown during the stuff on _The Big Lebowski_ is definitely odd. How do you know he was at the premiere? I haven't been able to see anything about it as the cable here at school is limited to two televisions in the dorms, and we don't get half of basic!

Finally, did anyone catch the IFC Fridays interview with him and John Turturro? I have/had it on tape, but I now have to tear up my mother's house when I go home for spring break to find the thing. It was a great interview. I found it hilarious that he had such a hard time not laughing when returning an album to Turturro, like it had all be scripted in such a bad way that one had to laugh. Anyone else notice that?

From: Kelly

Hey,

I sure hope at least a few of us get to see THE REAL BLONDE. The reviews that I've seen for it have been really mixed. It would be really cool if it's as funny as LIVING IN OBLIVION.

I didn't see that Steve LIO interview on E!, but I've seen him on E! before. He was on their "Cannes '96" special, and I've seen him on other stuff; it's just that it seems like they've been neglecting him lately. Remember the CON-AIR premiere special? They interviewed almost all the main cast except him. They did show him from afar, though. I don't know, maybe he didn't want to be interviewed that time. But, the main reason that I was pissed at E! is that both the WEDDING SINGER thing and the ARMAGEDDON thing happened on the same "E! News Daily"! I didn't really expect to see him at the WS premiere, but when I didn't see him in that other story I felt cheated, like I should at least have gotten a glimpse of him!

About the BIG L premiere -- While I can't be absolutely positive that he was there, because I wasn't there, I do believe he was there because of this short article that I saw today on the web that said that he was.

Kelly

Ok, I'm the silliest person ever! See, I wrote the last e-mail while I was at work, so my mind was on a million different things. Anyway...

I WAS referring to Steve's "get beat up" scene in "Fargo."

Sorry for all the confusion. :-)

Hi,

While I don't have any real news about the possibility of Steve directing a "Homicide" episode, I was looking at some people's posts yesterday (don't remember where), and came across one where somebody said that they saw Steve at a bar (in Baltimore) the day before. When I read this I wondered what he was doing there, maybe that's why.

From: Kelly

Hi,

It's me again. I was flipping through channels tonight and caught the tail end of a BIG LEBOWSKI piece on "At The Angelica" on Bravo. I let out a piercing scream of "Nooooooooooooo," when I saw behind the scenes footage of Steve flicker by. I don't know what it is with me always just missing shows that have him on them! I was quite relieved when I saw that it comes back on at either 1:30am or 1:45am central on Bravo tonight/early Sat. morning. So all of you who have Bravo watch for him on "At The Angelica" late tonight.

Later,
Kelly
