The show is called "Monsters." It was made in 1989, and the specific
episode's title is "Bed and Boar." The show starts out with Steve as a
travelling salesman (John Dennis) who is done for the day, and enters his
hotel room. As he tries to unwind from the day's work, he keeps hearing
loud noises coming from the next room. John calls the front desk, only
to be told that there are no other rooms available. Eventually, the
noises stop, and there is a knock on the door. John opens it, and
invites the person, drenched from the rain, in. She accepts the
invitation, and begins to put the moves on John. The woman's lover gets
angry, and breaks through the wall separating the two rooms. In order to
protect both himself and the woman, John kills off the lover.

That's pretty much the whole story. I did leave off a few details, but
that's why you're going to watch it if you haven't already, right? ;-)

Hi there everybody!

I was at Vons and the little thing that seperates everybody's groceries when
you're in line was an ad for Armegeddon. One side said "HEADS UP" and the
other side said "ARMEGEDDON" and another side had the date and all that it
comes out on. It was really cool. I wanted to steal it sooooo bad but I was
next in line and the checker was looking right at me. Now, if only it had a
picture of Steve on it.
Also, does anybody know when the Armegeddon action figures come out? I hope
they make a little Steve one!!!!!!

I know it's Saturday morning and it's already been on, but I thought
I'd say that Steve directing was great. I loved the storyline. There was
no way in my opinion Steve would show up since he was already on there
as one of the most hated criminals who has ever been on the show.

Subject: videos & tv shows in England/TBL/old films

Give me Buscemi action figures! I want them NOW!

I don't understand why it's so difficult to buy Living In Oblivion or
Trees Lounge in the US. They're American films, right? So how come
I've been reading that it's hard to get hold of them without paying
$80 or whatever. I'm in England and have had no trouble getting
either video and both for about 13 of the queen's pounds sterling.
I think that's about $19, or something.

On the other hand, life is not that sweet this side of the pond.
I can't even get Saturday Night Live or Conan Whateverhisnameis here,
so I'm missing out even more than anyone who forgot to set their
video! I don't even get a chance to set my video. It's so unfair!

I'm also annoyed with all my local cinemas at the moment. The
Big Lebowski got its nationwide release last Friday, but they've all
been telling me I've got to wait another 2 weeks before they're
showing it, unless I travel hundreds of miles down to London. Add to
that the fact that The Real Blonde and The Wedding Singer aren't
opening for another month or more, and you see my frustration!

A question: does anyone have any information about Force of
Circumstance or No Picnic. The only thing I know about them is from
the IMDB, which is that they feature Steve. But that's all it
tells you. I'm not entirely convinced that they exist at all. It's my
theory that they've been invented by an overzealous Buscemi fan, and
the rumour got onto the IMDB site. So, has anyone actually seen
either film? What's the deal here?

As ever, "quit shooting phlegm all over my ass" (now who was
that?)

Well heck, I got Living in Oblivion for about $8 and I live in Finland. :)
Still, this certainly isn't the first (or last) time when americans don't
get american films easily.

For example, I heard (which means I'm not sure if it's true) that Abel
Ferrara's Blackout premiered in USA a few weeks ago. Well, it was here in
Finland on a festival _last year_ and premiered nationwide a few weeks
earlier than in USA.

Conan O'Brien isn't shown in UK? I'm fairly sure it is.

Subject: Alex Rockwell chat

Hi Everyone,

Also, I was one of 4 people that went to the chat with Alex Rockwell
yesterday. Rockwell didn't say much about Steve. He did offer that he
knew Steve from Steve's days working in performance theatre with Mark
Boone, Jr. Rockwell then said that he wrote the part of the youngest son
in the movie Sons for Steve, but Steve was unable to do the part. So,
Rockwell wrote the part of Aldolpho for Steve.

In addition, Rockwell said that Louis et Frank has distribution in France,
Germany, Japan, and one other place in Europe (if I remember correctly).
Currently, the French company that made the film, doesn't want to
distribute it in America for some reason or other.

Finally, Rockwell described the role that Steve would be playing, and it
doesn't sound like Adolpho to me. I don't recall the specifics that he
stated. Hopefully there will be a transcript of the chat on-line at their
site.

Guess what. I was looking thru one of those nifty books that we keep
around the theater with upcoming movies. anyone heard of a movie called
"The Imposters". All I know about it is that it stars Stanley Tucci and
Oliver Platt. It is about a Hapless duo on board a 1930s ocean voyage.
All they want to do is act, and they get an unexpected chance on this
ship. The show features a ensemble cast Including Steve, Billy
Connelly, and Hope Davis. Listed in that order. Could Steve have a
good supporting role? Hope so.

Kate

{I wouldn't necessarily count on Steve having a "good supporting role" as
the names are listed alphabetically. MH}

As found in Issue #63 of Factsheet 5:

"STEVE BUSCEMI "ACTION PIX" 1998 Calendar
One of Washington state's most entertaining 'zines - Throwrug- has put
together this perfectly brilliant tribute to the man behind Mr. Pink. I just
don't know what is goofier, the idea of a Steve Buscemi calendar or the actual
reality of it. Every month features a captured video still of him at his most
awkward, eye-popping best with comments on the movie beneath. Of course there
are scenes from Fargo and Reservoir Dogs, but Karl dove into the video bins to
find Buscemi's roles in Mystery Train, Things to Do in Denver When You're
Dead, Call Me, Parting Glances, Vibes, New York Stories, and many more. The
centerpiece lists a complete filmography of 52 films; many of them will leave
you scratching your head saying "I didn't know he was in that!" Beats the
Adbusters and Autonemedia calendars for my favorite of the year. Loves

Subject: Shows in England/Films still available

Can we get Conan O'Brian in England? I don't know. Maybe if you've
got cable or satellite or something. But that's a luxury I don't
have. So no Conan. Is it likely to be repeated? If so I could warn my
friend in New Jersey to tape it for me, then watch it when I'm over
there in the summer. What about Saturday Night Live, do they repeat
them?
Anyway, enough of bemoaning programs I can't see! How about
programs that aren't shown in America? I've got a copy of the Film
Night interview with Steve where he's playing pool and talking about
Trees Lounge, Cassavetes and directing in general. I've also got the
Cling Film interview before Trees Lounge came out. So that's some
consolation.
Does anyone know which films featuring Steve have definitely been
deleted from sale? Can you still get Coffee and Cigarettes II, or
some of the short films he's been in? Most of my local video outlets
have never heard of half the early films.

Remember in Con Air when steve said somthing like "isnt it ironic that we're
singing a song on a plane by someone who died in a plane crash?" (i know its
not perfect but close enough). Well its also ironic that Buddy Holly was
making that trip to Fargo, ND. Yeah it's useless info but i thought it was
pretty cool.

Forgive me for saying this, but what are you talking about? How is it
ironic that Buddy Holly was the person making the trip to Fargo, ND? The
only way it would be ironic is if the group that sang the song in
question, Lynyrd Skynyrd, were making their trip to Fargo. Or, if Buddy
Holly had sang the song, Sweet Home Alabama. And, that concludes today's
lesson on irony. (Never mind that the writer of Con Air, Scott
Rosenberg?, didn't use irony in the classical sense to begin with.)
