Hi! I just got this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly with Sarah Micelle
Gellar on the cover. There is a review of The Big Lebowski along with a
picture of Steve in the bowling alley with John Goodman and Jeff Bridges. He
looks fabulous, as always!

Hi Everyone,
I put my boyfriend through hell last night in trying to see _The Real
Blonde_. Luckily, he's very understanding of me and my obsession, or so
I think. ;-)
The movie definitely isn't as good as _Living in Oblivion_, but it's
still interesting and provides a few laughs. As for Steve, he's in about
5-10 minutes of the film, but it's a two scenes towards the middle and
end. He has short hair and an earring and is the director of a Madonna
video. It's really not much of a part. I would say that unless you've
seen all of his large film roles, don't bother with this until it's on
video.
I did stay for the closing credits because I didn't catch if they
said his character's name or not. It turns out the name is Nick. Now,
who thinks that this is an extension of the character Nick Reve from
_Living in Oblivion_?

I think Steve looks so cute in that pic. I just have to add I finally got
my sister to admit that he's cute.

Hm...well, try this question. Nick in LIO was a pretty obvious extension
of Tom DiCillo himself. Would you say the Nick of RB was Tom? If he
seemed Tom-like, that makes it more likely he's "Nick take two."

THRILLED at how much they appreciated the film)

Hey --
Good news for those of us who live where THE REAL BLONDE is not yet
showing. According to "E! News Daily" it'll have a wider release in 2
weeks. On "Siskel & Ebert" the other night, they showed a very short
clip of one of Steve's scenes -- he looks sooooo good! Dave Chappelle
was also in that particular scene, so I'm gonna watch "Letterman" on
the 9th when Chappelle is on -- maybe they'll show a clip with Steve
in it.
About the Nick/LIO connection:
Actually, I wondered about that too, when I first saw Steve in all
that black clothing like he was wearing in LIO. Both characters are
directors, but I guess we'll never know unless someone asks Steve or
Tom DiCillo.

I am sure that every single person on this mailing list is happy that Steve is
being put into more and more great new (popular!) movies....but I do not think
that the public appreciates him as much as we do. In fact, my parents can't
help but see him as an old ugly man with funky teeth.
I believe that channels like E! do not show him as often b/c it wouldn't
"boost" their ratings....sad, I know. I grieve just like the rest of
you.
I think that he is at his peak right now as an actor, however. Hopefully the
public will acknowledge this with "The Big Lebowski", The Real Blonde, and
Armageddon.
If not, oh well, ......more Steve for the rest of us!!!! :)~

Ok. Steve's character did seem a bit frustrated at the way the shoot was
going at times, but I didn't really perceive this Nick as being all that
similar to LiO's Nick. And, if I go by our (Rebecca's and my) attempt to
decipher whether or not Tom was the equivalent of Nick and Catherine the
equivalent of Nicole, I can only think that the two Nick's aren't the same
person. If we go by the idea that Tom has a major thing for Catherine,
then I would have to say that the equivalent of Tom in this movie is
Matthew Modine's character.
In a further parallel, perhaps the reason that Tom hasn't been more
"prolific" in the industry is because he didn't want to give up his
"artistic integrity," just like Modine's character didn't want to do a
soap opera because he didn't consider it art.
Now what does anyone think?

Hello everyone! I have heard of Tom DiCillo, but I can not think of what he
has done recently....I can't seem to remember where I have heard of him,
either. Can anyone refresh my memory?!
{Tom DiCillo was the writer/director of _Living in Oblivion_ with Steve.
In addition, he wrote and directed _Johnny Suede_ with Brad Pitt.}
In the midst of all Steve's new movies I'd like to ask about his (supposed)
old ones.
On one of the filmography's it says that Steve was the bartender in Dead Man.
I just rented Dead Man and the bartender looks nothing like him. Does anybody
know if it's really him?
Also, reel.com said that Steve was in Even Cowgirls Get The Blues but I saw
that movie and I didn't see him anywhere. Does anybody know if he's really in
these movies or why they say he's in them if he's not? Was he supposed to be
in them and then cut out like in The Grifters? Thanks
Tricia

Wow...they had an article on Steve that said he was the "dim-witted whipping
boy" in The Big Lebowski.
I also saw the picture of him sitting in the bowling alley....what a
hottie!!!

In the newspaper this morning, there was an article about The Big Lebowski.
The said that Steve was "underused" in the movie.
{Which newspaper was this?}
Also, a few weeks ago I saw an article about the wedding singer and they said
that Steve was the only character in the movie that brought a lot of laughs
and was entertaining.

Which Entertainment Weekly had an article about Steve? I subscribe to EW, but
I didn't see any article on him! The only thing I found was a review of The
Big Lebowski that didn't even mention him (aside from the picture). Who was
on the cover? If I didn't get that issue, I'm going to be on the phone to EW
in 5 minutes!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone else get the feeling that Steve won't be in this movie all
that much? I keep seeing commercials for it, but they don't have Steve in
them anymore. :-( They have tons of John Turturro, though.
I guess I'll find out when I go tomorrow.

Well....I did it!!!! I saw TBL.....it had its moments, let me tell
you.....(yeah, when Steve was in it!!! lol) Anyways....yes, it was good. I
was laughing extremely hard in parts, but I was upset that Steve was shown
only at the bowling alley....I guess that fits his character, though.....
I would recomend seeing this movie if you are a die-hard Steve fan....if not,
wait 'til video.
Love and pleasant dreams of Steve!!!

of Steve that I have ever seen to date!!!
It was wickedly funny.....if you are a die-hard Steve Buscemi fan, you must
see this movie. Wow! He is just as good at acting as he was 12 years
ago....

Oh no !
Before I went to school Friday morning I had my dad drive me to the local
store & get the paper. I looked at the movie section & neither of my
theaters have The Big Lebowski. Almost needless to say is that we never got
The Real Blonde either. Yes, I'm mad because we didn't get a Steve movie,
but what's even worse is that I really wanted to see The Big Lebowski & not
just because of Steve. I'm also a Jeff Bridges fan & the movie looked
great, arrgh !!! My dad said that maybe we will get it in a couple of weeks
which happens sometimes. Then on the other hand it took us 3 months to get
Evita.
After seeing The Big Lebowski, a question I've pondered several times comes
to the forefront of my mind again:
~What~ is the link with Steve and pancakes?
Pancakes, an innocuous and generally un-noticable item, have appeared in at
least half a dozen Steve movies (I have a list somewhere, can't locate it
at the moment...). What's up with that? Has anyone else noticed this?

That's odd. I've never noticed this to the point that I can only name 2
films that have him and pancakes. (TBL and Fargo, both done by the Coen
bros.) I'm wracking my brain and just can't come up with any other films
with them. Besides, it's not like Steve's the one eating the pancakes.
If he were, then there'd be something worth looking at.
