Subject: Six degrees of Steve, sorta
Someone started a thread on alt.tv.highlander, to do a six degress of
Adrian Paul. One of them started with Jaleel White (Steve Urkel). I knew I
could get to Steve, but wasn't sure how to get to AP from there, without
going through more than 6 steps. Here's what I finally came up with,
thanks to someone else's post.

Subject: More six degrees of Steve
I think I have come up with a six degrees, connecting our illustrious
moderator with Steve.
indieFan was in an episode of Chips as a child, as one of the student's of
Ponch's fiancee. Erik Estrada was in an episode of Unhappily Ever After
with Nikki Cox. Now the next step is one I"m not positive of, although I
have heard it. Nikki played an alien youth in an episode of Star Trek: The
Next Generation. Colm Meany was in ST:TNG and Con Air, with Steve.
{Yes, Nikki Cox was in an episode of ST:TNG. MH}
If that doesn't work, I seem to recall an episode of Beretta with Tommy Lee
Jones and someone who looked like Estrada. Going from TLJ to Will Smith in Men
in Black. Jaleel White made some guest appearance on The Fresh Prince. Reg vel
Johnson, who was in Family Matters with Jaleel, was in Die Hard with Bruce
Willis, who was in 3 different movies with Steve.
anybody else want to try, or suggest a new six degrees?

Here's a small article about Steve's involvement with
Queer, the upcoming film based on both Queer and Junky
by William S. Burroughs:

Once you get to the page, you'll have to browse the
page to find the headline that reads "Buscemi takes
helm of Seneca's Burroughs tale."

I'm actually three degrees removed from Steve, believe it or not.
I performed with an improv comedy group in Florida called Comedy Sportz with
a guy named Adam Sietz. Adam was in Woody Allen's "Celebrity" with Judy
Davis. Judy Davis was in "Barton Fink" with Steve Buscemi.
Pretty cool, huh?
(not as cool as the fact that I'm more excited about being 3 degrees away
from Steve than I am about being 2 degrees from Leo)

I tried to do this myself and the best I could come up
with was the following, which makes me 5 degrees
removed from Steve. I'm not sure it really is valid,
though...after all, I didn't work with Trent, I just
met him. :)
1. Met Trent Reznor in 1994.
2. Trent Reznor and David Bowie were in a video
together, "I'm Afraid of Americans." I think they
co-wrote the song, but I don't know. :)
3. David Bowie was in Labyrinth with Jennifer
Connelly.
4. Jennifer Connelly was in Inventing the Abbotts with
Liv Tyler.
5. Liv Tyler was in Armageddon with Steve Buscemi.
Woo hoo! Don't burst my bubble. :P

This is too funny. I didn't even think about this
until just a couple minutes ago. I was in Baltimore
this past March and I had the opportunity to meet some
of the actors from my favorite TV show -- Homicide
(it's since been canceled : ( Anyway, I met Clark
Johnson (sooo gorgeous) and Kyle Secor who both were
in scenes with Steve in the Homicide episode in which
he appeared ("End Game"). They also were both in the
episode that Steve directed, "Finnigan's Wake." Is
that one degrees or two?

gee, it's been a while since I posted.
Hi,
Well... since everyone else gave this a try.
I'll try too..
1.) My mother took me as an extra when I was about 4 years old... one of
them was "Come see the Paradise". (It's probably the only time I've
actually been seen on the screen, instead of showing the back of my head as
usual. heh he) anyhow... Colm Meany played the character Gerry McGurn.
2.) Colm Meany played Duncan Malloy in ConAir...
"Beautiful? Sunsets are beautiful, newborn babies are beautiful. This...
this is f****** spectacular!"
And I think we all know who did the superb job of portraying the fictional
psycho killer Garland Greene.
hey, this was pretty fun... but i don't know if mine counts since I was only
a mere extra...
i guess my next post will be in another 6 ot 7 months.. j/k
sorry again for seeming like i abandoned you all... but i've been reading
almost everything posted.. laughing at your general wit and humour..
g'bye fer now,

An even quicker route is to go from Wil to Colm Meaney, who played Miles
O'Brien in ST:TNG, and was in Con Air with Steve

Ok, I gave it some thought here and this is one I can think of right
now.....
Years ago, I met Johnny Cola who's the sax player for Huey Lewis & The
News.
If I am correct, Huey Lewis had a cameo in the movie, Back To the
Future.
Christopher Lloyd was in Back To the Future and was also in Things To Do
In Denver When You're Dead which Steve, of course, was also in.
I know I'm reaching here, but this is fun - I even found less degrees
(and better ones) with two other actors I like!

Okay, I finally figured a connection between me and Steve. There's a local DJ
that I've met several times, who has also done some acting and cartoon voices.
His name is Tony Wyke. He was in a movie with Burt Reynolds. I don't recall the
name offhand, I only saw it once, but it's about a alcoholic/drug addict who
becomes pregnant and the center of a battle between pro and anti-abortionists.
Burt Reynolds was in Cannonbal Run II with Tony Danza, who co-starred with
Christopher Lloyd in Taxi, who as we all know, was in Things to do in Denver
When You're Dead with Steve.

I don't think simply meeting someone should count as a degree, there
should be some more connection than that. Therefore, my route would
be...
1. In a school play I acted alongside a classmate, Andrew Price, who
later played a thug in the Channel 4 drama 'Hearts and Minds'.
2. The actor Christopher Eccleston was in 'Hearts and Minds'. He was
also in 'eXistenZ'.
3. The actress Jennifer Jason Leigh was in 'eXistenZ'. She was also
in 'Kansas City' or 'The Hudsucker Proxy' or 'Heart of Midnight'...
4. ...all of which featured the actor Steve Buscemi.
Come to think of it, if I made a route through meeting people it
wouldn't be much shorter!
Considering I live in England, I think I've done well to make it in
just 4 connections.

Subject: One degree?
Hi everybody...
This is my first letter to the Trees Lounge mailing list. My name is
Fredrik and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
I have been following the degree thing with great interest. If you have
met mr. Buscemi, that would be one degree, right?
In 1996 I was working with the Stockholm Film Festival, as a reporter
for a very small daily newsletter published during the festival. I had
the pleasure of writing about Steve Buscemi who was there promoting
"Trees Lounge" together with Mark Boone Jr. I never got to interview him
but I saw him at press conferences and screenings and met him personally
once, when he signed my "Trees Lounge" ticket. Also at the festival I
met the Coen brothers and Frances McDormand who were there promoting
"Fargo". But when mr. Buscemi arrived they had already left.
I was very impressed by the way Steve Buscemi dealt with press and
audience questions. He was relaxed and witty but treating everybody with
respect, giving honest, insightful and very quotable answers.
I am very glad to have discover this excellent opportunity to get in
contact with other fans of one of the worlds most interesting actors.
Fredrik
