I don't like Steve because I think he's a hottie.
After all, I'm only 16, and he's a year younger than
both my parents! I think he's an AWESOME actor and
director, and he's really hilarious. Plus, he is
kind of adorable in a weird kind of way. You know?

Oh, I remember someone talking about this a while
back, but I'll bring it up again. There's a song by
Blessid Union of Souls that says "I like me for me.
Not because I hang with Leanardo or that guy who
plays in Fargo, I think his name is Steve." I got
the biggest kick out of that, so I taped the song. I
just thought it was pretty cool! I never realized
how popular Steve really is now! Stay cool!-Rebekah

Subject: Armageddon: Criterion Collection

I just found out that there is a special 2 DVD set of
Armageddon available. I remember hearing that there
might be a collectors edition released but that was so
long ago that I'd forgotten. I know that it's
available at http://www.reel.com for $29.99.

Criterion Collection Special Features:
Disc One:
-Director's Cut-Personally supervised by Michael Bay
- Two audio commentary tracks featuring Michael Bay,
Jerry Bruckheimer, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, John
Schwartzmann, NASA consultant Joe Allen and asteroid
consultant Ivan Bekey.

Disc Two:
-Deleted Scenes
-Special Effects analysis by visual effects
supervisors Richard Hoover, Hoyt Yeatman, and Pat
McClung.
-Theatrical Trailers
-TV Commercials
-Michael Bay featurette
-Aerosmith video "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
-Interviews with the members of Aerosmith
-Storyboard Gallery

I got the preceding info from http://www.megadvd.com

Seeing how I myself don't have this 2-DVD set (I have
the regular-old 1 DVD of Armageddon) -- yet, I'd
appreciate it if anyone who may have this 2-DVD set
could provide a run down of any extra Steve
appearances. Thanks

Has anyone been to IMDB lately? If not, there's a new movie listed for
Steve. It's called Shanghai Noon, and I guess it's due out in the year 2000.
Here's the plot outline:

Jackie Chan plays a Chinese man who travels to the Wild West to rescue a
kidnapped princess. After teaming up with a train robber, the unlikely duo
takes on a Chinese traitor and his corrupt boss.

I was just surfing the net and thought maybe you'd all like to know.

Steve material is pretty low. But if you like the movie and can get it
for 29.99 its worth it.
It has a funny AC and gag reel is great

I think the movie has some of Steve's improve, that was cut.

In Deleted Scenes Steve tells the crew about his fondest memories.

In the Gag Reel Steve does some more improve, and a lot of guys blow
their lines.

That's great! Steve *and* Jackie Chan could be in the same movie?!! I
love Jackie Chan! I will be one of the first in line for this
one............

BTW, I guess the commercials for Big Daddy should be shown soon, if it's
still coming out next month.

I agree completely. Aside from Steve and Alan Cumming, Jackie Chan is one
of my all time favorites. I would be very happy to see them in a movie
together!

Hey Everybody!

Well I saw on Entertainment Tonight the other day that Adam Sandler is
going to get $25 million to do "The Wedding Singer 2". Does this mean we
can look forward to another hilarious Steve Buscemi cameo?! Has anybody
else heard anything about this movie?

Possible (inferred) spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie:

I was just looking at the message board that Kym had set up, and one of
the comments was about Rockhound and whether or not the person thought he
should have died. I'm curious what everyone here thinks.

Do you believe that it was better that Rockhound lived?

As sick as I am of watching Steve's characters die, this is one time that
I was actually rooting for him to die. The reason: If Rockhound would
have set the nuclear blast off and died, he would have redeemed his entire
character. Rockhound did have his moments of brilliance, but the writers
made his behavior despicable overall. Besides, why should Bruce Willis
*always* get the glory?

Well, it was a good thing they didn't let Rockhound set off the blast. I
would have hated the entire crew for letting a crazy person decide to
sacrifice himself. He wasn't such a scuzzy person to have to redeem himself,
just a guy who knows what he likes. He was needed on the mission, he got them
out of a couple spots up there, plus I just personally like funny-looking
geniuses.

Hi. I thought it was great that Rockhound lived. And I would have
preferred to see Ben Affleck's character blow up instead of Bruce's..
but that's just me. And I agree with Maegann who says she likes funny
looking geniuses. It's nice to know there are other people out there
who like that sort of thing :)

Makes me wonder if Buscemi took the part because his character DID
live. Armageddon is the movie I've seen the most of in the cinema,
EVER. And if I had to pick a favourite bit it's where they are
disarming the nuke and Rockhound is sitting there going, "Do a good
job.. do a good job." I think it's hilarious.

And I am esctatic to return home from holidays to read here that Jackie
Chan and Buscemi are going to be in a movie together!? That's great
news... Shanghai Noon? I will be keeping an eye out for it. Hope it
gets off the ground.. or at least to Australia!

Take care Buscemi fans.. Rochelle

little time consuming in that you have to register to browse the

I`m was happy he didn`t die. Its a really sad movie as it is, and if
he had died I probably would`ve starting convolting from crying so hard
right in the middle of the theatre. Also Rockhound was hilarious, and if he
had died it would of just been to tragic to see the funny man die. I think
everyone is probably pretty sick of seeing Steve die in movies anyway.

I am another person who hates when Steve's characters keep dying in
movies. I actually expected him to get killed off the first time I saw
Armageddon, and was pleasantly surprised when he lived!
I thought his character was hilarious in the movie and I too don't like
to see the funny character die. Plus, I thought he was just as
honourable as the others - he just had a different way to show it.
Setting off the nuke would have made him even more the hero, but
wouldn't have been fair to him - having space dementia.
Plus, we wouldn't have seen him spread out on the pavement like that at
the end! ;o) *sorry, evil side coming out there*

Armageddon was an awesome movie and it would have been horrible if Steve's
character would have died. That movie is really long but I could watch it
over and over again just to see Rockhound...He is an awesome dude and it too
bad his character isn't real, cause he would be a cool guy to hang with.

I got a couple questions for all of you Trees Lounge readers:

1. What was your fav. Steve movie?
2. What is one thing you like/dislike about Steve?

My answers would have to be that I think that Trees Lounge was my favorite
movie because it was kind of moving to me that Steve just got crapped on
through the whole movie but he still took it like a man.

I like everything about Steve...There is nothing I would change about him
except one thing and it doesn't really matter either way but I got to say,
he should get his teeth fixed...He would look wonderful not that he already
doesn't but you know....it couldn't hurt.

Ok, I seem to be the only one that wanted to see him die. What can I tell
you? As for being a cool guy to hang with, I'd have to agree so long as
he acted similar to when he was being questioned by the NASA officials to
make sure he could go into space.

> I got a couple questions for all of you Trees Lounge readers:

You want me to choose one? I can't do that. No matter how hard I try,
there are good things and bad things about each movie. (So I'm a negative
person, what do you expect?) My top choices would be Reservoir Dogs
(loved the logic his character follows), Living in Oblivion, Parting
Glances (despite the fact that critics panned it), the episode of
Homicide:LotS, and Black Kites (his wife's short film). And, yes, I know
I keep changing what I recommend/like the best. I'm sure if I thought
about this question tomorrow, I'd change my answer once again.

> 2. What is one thing you like/dislike about Steve?

What I like: On a serious level, I enjoy his immense talent and his sense
of priorities (like protecting and being there for his son). On a
superficial level, I dig in the following order: his gorgeous eyes, his
strong hands and arms, and his hair when it's extremely short.

What I dislike: This is easy to answer. I dislike the fact that he
doesn't act in more projects every year, and most of what he does ends up
as cameos. :-(

I just have to ask: Does anyone have an opinion as to his teeth being a
dentist/orthodontist's nightmare or wet dream?

My fave Steve movies are "Fargo", "Reservoir Dogs", "Armageddon" and , call
me a dork if you will, but also "Tales from the Darkside". Although I havn't
seen the Imposters, YET, I'm sure it would be up there with them too, seeing
as Oliver Platt is my other favourite actor...

Personally, I like his teeth. I reckon it's good to see someone in Hollywood
that doesn't find it necessary to be cosmetically "perfect", and just look
at how popular he is none the less. For me, he just wouldn't be the same if
he didn't have those teeth, it's part of his style, they make him unique. (I
would still like him though)

What I dislike about him: He's nowhere near Australia and I'll never get to
meet him! *sigh* I can always live in hope.

i'm glad that rockhound lived. i'm tired of watching the good guys live and
the not so good guys die because they're not as "great" or "handsome"
according the the norm. come on, the beautiful people needs to die, too!
(no, i'm not a maryln manson fan).
as for his teeth, i think they're sexy. yeah, that's a wierd comment, but
"back in the 60's, men can have bad teeth and still be a sex symbol!"
(direct quote from "austin powers" by mimi rogers' character). with out his
bad teeth, his lips might not look that great, and next thing you'll know,
he's just a regular joe. (hey, i rhyme!)
caught a glimps of politicaly incorrect with bill marh (sp?) last night.
ever wonder what steve would be like if he were on that show? maybe we
should write the network and ask bill marh to invite streve on to that show.

1. What was your fav. Steve movie?

Like indieFan, I don't just have one...and my opinion
seems to change frequently. Right now, I'd say that
Reservoir Dogs and In the Soup top my list. I really
like Living in Oblivion, too. Damn, it's too hard to
pick just one!

2. What is one thing you like/dislike about Steve?

Like: His work ethic -- he seems to work more for love
than for money and I admire and respect that greatly.
Physically, I love his baby blue eyes and his hair.

Dislike: I have to side with indieFan on this one! I
dislike the fact that he doesn't work a little more
often and that when he DOES, it's often just a cameo.
Ugh! More lead roles, more lead roles! :)

Either Trees Lounge or Living in Oblivion. Not for any particular reason.
Just no matter how many times I watch them they never get old or boring.

I like that no matter how sneaky or weird the characters he plays are Steve
makes them all likable. Even when he is supposed to be mean and rotten
you're sad if he gets offed.

one thing i really like about steve is his voice. it just gets to me - steve
would definately not be the same w/out his voice. plus i find his teeth sort
of endearing. i think it adds to his goofy kind of appearance :)
