Before Con
These are my misc. photos
Rhonda and I went to con together. She was at last year's convention
so I was glad
she knew what to do. I walked around like a chicken with her head cut
off all weekend.
We arrived thursday afternoon. Customs was not as bad as I thought.
We are herded like cattle through a long
corridor. Then we waited in very long lines. When customs asked why
I was in Canada,
I said "Uh...to attend the La femme Nikita convention"
She said "What's La Femme Nikita?"
I tried to explain to her with the fear of being detained. But she
had no clue and far be it that I say
it's a show shot right here and it's the best show ever. Instead I
just said, "It's based on a french movie"
(Rhonda laughed but it was her turn next at the counter and my turn
to laugh).
Rhonda rented a car, which turned out to be a great idea. However,
we had to wait forever
for a shuttle to come get us. While waiting for the Alamo shuttle and
freezing, we saw
a couple Marriott shuttles pass us and doubted the decision to rent
a car.
My point: It was great having a car, but it was a huge Hassle. Don't
use Alamo.
The Hotel Marriott
The lobby of the Marriott. To the right was the huge room where all
actors
answered questions.
Me and Sister
Robin sent roses to the con committee and I borrow one to take a photo
of it.
I'm wearing my necklace of badges and buttons.
The first person I met at the con was my tape angel, Sister. I didn't
even knew she was coming.
We were checking in at the same time and I heard her say her real name.
I hesitated because
I always confuse people's real names with their email names. But I
was right and she is such a nice person.
The hotel room. My bed was the right one. As you can tell, I was there
less then
5 minutes and I had already made a mess of my side. So I took a picture
of Rhonda's side.
It was a nice room.
