SUMMARY

Male chauvinist Kuen (Gallen Lo) by chance gets cast in a TV commercial directed by the strong-willed Ching (Flora Chan). The two are at two extremes in characters and thus ends up in rivalry. Then, Ching is killed in a war game session whilst Kuen is also seriously injured. Decides to seek vengeance on the murderer, Ching decides to take possession of Kuen's body, becoming the expatriate "Diana".

During the course of her investigation, "Diana" discovers, to her dismay, that her sister Hung (Nicola Cheung) is in fact very unruly while her hushand Wah (Kong Wa) is having an affair with his secretary Ying (Angela Tong)! Step by step, she finally make out who has killed her...

Review

I finished watching Mr.Diana just a few days ago. To all Gallen's fans, you shouldn't miss this serial because you get a very surprising performance from Gallen. It will not be as memorable as his interpretation of Lee Kei in "Old Time Buddy", but this was definitely a new challenge for Gallen. I would say, the character "Tang Bing Kun" reunites different aspects of past characters played by Gallen. For example, it has the funny and outgoing personality of "Dai Tow Man" in "Secrets of the Heart", and the vulnerability(Gallen often gets sick or hurt in this serial)of Lee Kei in OTB.

As for the storyline, it it obvious that the director of this serial has put some thoughts on it. It has a very funny beginning, seeing the gradual transformation of Gallen into a woman, and as a result, he bumps into some really hilarious situations. Gallens lives in a small village, so the beginning was mainly about his relationship with others villagers, but as the story moves on, he gets hired by the company where Flora used to work, and that is where things got complicated. Up to the 10th episode, the story dragged on and on a bit too much, mainly about Gallen's relationship with Flora's sister, which is actually important for the storyline, but I didn't particularly like it because these two do not match at all. As we approach the last five episodes, finally things get more interesting. The relationship of Gallen and Flora, after many transformations, has become deeper. The storyline of Flora's murder
reaches a new peak. And as the last episodes approach quickly, everything gets clearer. But as we think we predicted everything, another thing happens and surprises us. Finally, the ending is the most adorable of all.

For those who feel that there is not enough chemistry between Flora and Gallen, it is probably because they barely have any physical contact in this Serial. But be patient and wait for the ending, you will not be disappointed. Anyway, I'm sure they will make a good couple in the new Serial they will work on. Flora's have made lots of effort to improve her skills. Although she was still a bit stiff at times, but in general she made a good performance.
