William Shatner, who came on board "The Practice" as the irascible Denny Craine of the law firm Craine, Poole and Schmidt, is teaming with Robert Wagner and Lee Majors for an ABC MOW that was designed as a potential franchise called "ActionHeroes, Inc." It's about three ex TV heroes who open a private detective agency and solve cases by paying the roles which made them famous -- roles somewhat reminiscent of "Captain Kirk," "Jonathan Hart" and "The Six Million-Dollar Man." The heart of the movie (series) is the relationship among these three pals, who are fighting ageism, remembering lost love and loved ones and rediscovering what it means to be -- true heroes ... DANVILLE, Ky., April 26th, 2004, 10:30 a.m.) -- The founder of a summer stock theater that drew aspiring actors such as John Travolta, Lee Majors and the late Jim Varney is dead at the age of 81.
Eben Henson died Sunday night at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital at Danville following an illness.
Henson was a budding actor on Broadway and in film when he was called home to his native Danville by his ailing father. He started Pioneer Playhouse from scratch and did occasional film work on the side, including stunts such as alligator wrestling and underwater boxing.
The playhouse typically does five summer productions. It was the subject of a documentary, "Summerstock," by Henson's filmmaker son, Robby Henson, in 2002.

Ernest Borgnine saddles up to film Western for television
By Dave Mason
Scripps Howard News Service
Ernest Borgnine recalled when he needed a ladder to get on a horse. It was
several years ago on this same dusty street in a piece of the Old West
that lies about a half-hour north of Los Angeles.
"I need a little help at my age," Borgnine, 87, said about "The Last Great
Ride," filmed here in the late '90s for the USA network.
Wearing a cowboy hat, boots, vest and specs, Borgnine had just filmed
scenes for a new Western, "The Trail to Hope Rose."
And two weeks ago, Borgnine, Lee Majors and Lou Diamond Phillips were at
the National Park Service site to film the Western, a Hallmark Channel
movie about good vs. evil in a mining town. Also filmed in the Antelope
Valley, it will air July 4.
The film is about Keenan Deerfield (Phillips), who is released from prison
after serving time for armed robbery.
Determined to be a law-abiding citizen, he goes to Yuba City, a struggling
mining town. Borgnine plays Eugene, a rancher determined to help Keenan,
and Majors plays Toll, a soft-spoken marshal. Keenan doesn't plan to
become a hero but finds he has to be one to protect the town from the
mining company.
Borgnine said the movie's theme of a good rancher trying to help a young
man drew him to the film. "It's down-to-earth," he said. "We tell an
honest story. It's good guys vs. bad guys."
Earlier, Phillips talked about the advantages of filming at Paramount
Ranch over the Santa Fe location of his last Western, "Young Guns II"
(1990). "We got lucky," he said. "We're working in a location without
telephone poles."
The green hills, open sky, lack of any signs of the 21st century and the
proximity to Los Angeles make Paramount Ranch ideal for Westerns, producer
Jim Wilberger said.
There was just one minor problem, he said: The ranch, used last year for
HBO's "Carnivale," was in too good of shape. "We had to dirty it down a
lot to make it real," Wilberger said.

An update on the Six Million Dollar Man Movie
Jim Carrey Goes Bionic
Wed Oct 22, 1:25 PM ET Add Entertainment - E! Online to My Yahoo!
By Josh Grossberg
Jim Carrey is normally one of Hollywood's $20 million men. Looks like he's taking a huge paycut.
The rubbery-faced funnyguy is ready to go bionic in a send-up of The Six Million Dollar Man.
Unlike the classic 1970s ABC sci-fi series starring Lee Majors, the movie--which has long been in development as a by-the-numbers suspense thriller--will now be transformed into a comedy vehicle, allowing Carrey to parody the action genre much in the way Mike Myers poked fun at James Bond movies in Austin Powers.
Old School director Todd Philips is onboard to helm the flick for Dimension Films.
Carrey hatched the idea of doing a comic take on the character and, along with managers Jim Miller and Eric Gold, recruited Phillips, whose rsum also includes Road Trip.
Phillips immediately sparked to the concept and agreed to pen the script with his Old School writing partner Scot Armstrong, as well as direct.
Dimension, which owned the rights to the Martin Caidin novel Cyborg on which the original show was based, readily agreed to revamp the project, a no-brainer considering Carrey's last comedy, Bruce Almighty, grossed a heavenly $470 million at the international box office.
"The teaming of Jim and Todd is the perfect creative combination to launch the franchise," says Dimension chief Bob Weinstein. "Todd is a director with proven instincts and Jim is a superstar."
Universal, which produced the original Six Million Dollar Man for ABC from 1974 to 1978 (and its spinoff, The Bionic Woman), still owns the rights to the TV series and is coproducing.
Carrey, of course, would play Air Force Colonel Steve Austin, who after a horrible plane crash, is rebuilt with experimental bionic limbs that give him superhuman strength and speed. Becoming an agent for the Office of Scientific Investigation, he uses his new powers to fight injustice and battle everything from mad scientists to Big Foot.
No word whether Majors or Lindsay Wagner (news), who starred as The Bionic Woman, will pop up in the picture. (USA Network plans to launch an update of latter show, which ran from 1976 to 1978).
Phillips plans to get to work on the screenplay as soon he and Armstrong finish writing Dimension's remake of School for Scoundrels, which he will also helm. Phillips recently completed shooting on Starsky & Hutch, another movie based on a popular 1970s TV staple. Like The Six Million Dollar Man, that flick--starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson --also put a funny spin on what was a straight drama.
Before he goes bionic, Carrey needs to finish a few other projects in the pipeline, including a remake of the 1977 comedy, Fun with Dick and Jane, which will reunite him with his Mask costar Cameron Diaz (news). He's also slated to begin production on Lemony Snicket this winter for a December 2004 release and is talking with Steven Spielberg about collaborating on a remake of The Scret Life of Walter Mitty.
The Six Million Dollar Man is expected to start shooting in fall 2004.

I know its been a while since the last update, but real life got in the way. Looks like Lee has recovered from his heart surgery and was out on the golf course last weekend in Hilton Head, SC. Reports say he looks great and was enjoying the golf and meeting fans.
Rumor has it that Lee is working on a new show. All I know at this point is that its about stunts and how they work
I have finally put up a new trivia question

'Fall Guy' Jumps to Big Screen

By Zorianna Kit
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - With a big-screen version of TV cop show "Starsky and Hutch" in production at Warner Bros., the studio is now bringing another television property to the big screen, the '80s action-adventure series "The Fall Guy," which starred Lee Majors .
The show, which ran on ABC from 1981-86, starred Majors as Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter. Helping him out was beautiful stuntwoman Jody and Colt's eager but inexperienced younger cousin Howie. A bail bondswoman gave them their assignments, while Colt incorporated the stuntwork he used in his day job into his pursuit of the bail jumpers.
The series' creator, Glen Larson, will serve as an executive producer. He held that role on such series as "Quincy, M.E.," "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries," "Battlestar Galactica," "BJ and the Bear," "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century," "Magnum, P.I." and "Knight Rider."
Tristan Patterson is attached to write the script in a deal potentially worth in the low seven figures. He most recently wrote "The Regulators" for Disney, based on his own pitch.
WB is also developing a big-screen version of "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Some more news on the suit Lee has filed against Universal Studios:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Lee Majors, best known as television's "Six Million Dollar Man," is locked in a bionic legal battle with the producers of his 1970s series.
The 63-year-old actor, who starred as a physically enhanced test pilot on the ABC series while married to actress Farrah Fawcett, has sued Universal Television Group for breach of contract and fraud, claiming he was short-changed on profits from the show.
The suit seeks a full audit of Universal's books and financial records relating to the show dating back to its inception and payment of unspecified sums found to be owed him.
A spokesman for the studio, a unit of Vivendi Universal, said the company never comments on pending litigation.
According to the suit, Universal agreed in 1975, after the show had been on the air for two years, to pay Majors 15 percent of net profits earned from the series and its post-network syndication.
The profit-sharing was supposed to commence from the first year of production, but Majors has never received any money from profit participation, the suit says.
The suit, filed Dec. 31 in Los Angeles Superior Court, disputes the accuracy of an accounting provided to Majors at his request last year. In particular, the suit says Universal miscalculated the amount of interest it was allowed to charge on certain production costs.
Majors starred in "The Six Million Dollar Man" as astronaut and test pilot Steve Austin, who was gravely injured in the crash of an experimental aircraft but was retrofitted with "bionic" prosthetics to replace the eye, arm and both legs he lost in the accident.
The high-tech enhancements leave him with superhuman speed, strength and vision, which Austin puts to good use as a covert agent for the fictional Office of Scientific Information (OSI), battling international villains, mad scientists and even alien monsters. The adventure series first appeared in the fall of 1973 as a made-for-TV movie, then returned as a series in January 1974, running on ABC until March 1978.
The popularity of the series sparked a wave of superhero TV shows in the 1970s and spawned the spinoff "The Bionic Woman," starring Lindsay Wagner (news). Universal's cable network, USA Network, recently announced plans to develop a remake of "The Bionic Woman." Reuters/Variety

Lee claims that Universal owes him some money
$6 Mil Man wants money
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The "Six Million Dollar Man" wants to get paid.
Actor Lee Majors, best known for the role of bionic agent Steve Austin is suing Universal City Studios, claiming the studio owes him money from the 1970s TV show.
In the breach of contract suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday, Majors claims Universal failed to live up to a 1975 agreement that guaranteed him 15 percent of the show's net profits.
He seeks unspecified damages.
Major starred in the "Six Million Dollar Man" from 1973 to 1978 as a NASA test pilot who gains superhuman strength and speed after a plane crash -- thanks to artificial implants.
The show spawned several spinoffs, including the 1976 series "The Bionic Woman."

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - For video game enthusiast Eric Fort, the most hotly anticipated game of the year is all about one thing: "freedom" -- freedom to carjack a police cruiser, run over pedestrians and shoot anything that moves.
"I don't think there's anything out there like this," said Fort, 23, at an event to mark the launch of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," the follow-on to last year's chart-topping game, "Grand Theft Auto 3."
Hundreds of video game fans, including Fort, turned out early Tuesday morning at an Electronics Boutique video game store outside Los Angeles for a first look at the criminal-adventure game, which features sunny beaches, scantily clad women, a 1980s soundtrack and edgy violence.
"Vice City," published by the Rockstar Games imprint of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (NasdaqNM:TTWO - news), is widely expected to be the best-selling game of 2002 and possibly among the top sellers of all time.
The game's controversial predecessor, released a year ago, established a formula that gamers loved and critics panned for its use of wild car chases and gratuitous violence.
The earlier game also sold more than 7 million copies, grossing an estimated $350 million -- more than all but a handful of Hollywood hits.
As a result, New York-based Take-Two has gone from the bottom of the industry to being the No. 3 independent publisher in just about a year. Its stock price has soared, rising 55 percent in 2002 to outpace industry rivals.
"Vice City," set in a city modeled on Miami, features voice tracks from some known Hollywood talent, including Ray Liotta, Burt Reynolds, Lee Majors and Dennis Hopper. Porn star Jenna Jameson, former football player Lawrence Taylor and 1980s TV icon Philip Michael Thomas also turn up.
"It has a completely different vibe than GTA 3 does," Rockstar spokesman Rob Fleischer told Reuters. "Vice City" is much larger than its predecessor, with a 1,000-page script and 90 minutes of video interspersed throughout the game.
The Official site for the game is Vice City

Some info on the long planned Six Million Dollar Movie
NEW YORK (Variety) - Dimension Films has tapped tyro scribe Trevor Sands to pen its tentpole film "Six Billion Dollar Man" -- the updated version of the Lee Majors TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man."
Dimension executives had been searching for a writer for some time. Sands came in for an informal meeting with such a strong pitch that he was asked to stay and immediately present it to Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein.
Sands' deal includes first-look writing and directing terms for future projects as well.
"This film has the potential to be a major franchise for us, and we wanted to find the best writer for the project, " said Weinstein. "Trevor's ideas are creative and original, and we're excited to develop the script with him."
The film will be based on Martin Caidin's "Cyborg" novels, which were the basis for the Universal Television series "Six Million Dollar Man" in the 1970s. Universal has first dibs at co-financing the adaptation with Dimension.

Some more news on the much talked about Six Million Dollar Man Movie:
Richard Anderson, who played Oscar Goldman on the 1970s TV series The Six Million Dollar Man, told SCI FI Wire that preproduction of Miramax/Universal's movie version of the series is on a fast track. Anderson added that he is under contract to appear as Oscar, and that Lee Majors may reprise his role as Steve Austin. But Anderson said filmmakers are looking for a new star--along the lines of Brad Pitt and Hugh Jackman--to play the lead, adding that it is not yet time to approach actors. "We've got to get the story straight," he said. "Story first, and then we'll go after the director."
Whatever direction the story takes, Anderson said it is important to keep some of the original actors, as did the James Bond series. "In James Bond, they always brought [Q], the fellow with the inventions, back, and he played the part until he died. So I think the studio felt there was something about bringing in some of the people from the original series."
Anderson became a producer with some of the Six Million Dollar Man TV movies and was the one to interest Universal in backing a theatrical production.

Some news on the possible Six Million Dollar Man Movie:
Six Million Dollar Man being rebuilt
By Charles Lyons and Dana Harris
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Steve Austin is back. Not the wrestler, but the fictional hero of the 1970s TV series ``The Six Million Dollar Man.''
The 1972 Martin Caidin novel on which the series was based, ''Cyborg,'' is being developed as a feature by Dimension Films and Universal Pictures.
Universal first began developing the feature in 1995, with writer/director Kevin Smith (''Dogma'') turning in a script. While it's possible Smith could be involved with the newest take on the project, there are no writers' deals in place.
In the original TV series starring Lee Majors, Steve Austin was a NASA test pilot badly injured in an accident. The government saved his life by replacing his legs, arm and eye with atomic-powered bionic devices. The half-man, half-cyborg was then sent on dangerous missions for the Office of Scientific Information, battling various international crooks and mad scientists.
The Universal-Dimension pact also includes rights to the three other novels in Caidin's ``Cyborg'' series: ``Operation Nuke,'' ``High Crystal'' and ``Cyborg IV.''
``'Six Million Dollar Man' is a franchisable film that we have been wanting to make for a long time now,'' Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein told Daily Variety. ``We're elated to have worked out a partnership with Universal.''

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - New Line Television has scrapped plans to launch its syndicated action show ``Hard Knox,'' starring Lee Majors and Thomas Calabro, even though it was cleared on TV stations in more than 90% of the country for a fall premiere.
The company cited difficulty securing international funding.
International financing was also a key issue in New Line's decision last year to pull ``Matthew Blackheart: Monster Smasher'' from the market after selling the actioner to stations covering some 65% of the country.

Title Note: This project was also known as Lost and Found during its development, but changed to Pay or Play, no doubt to avoid confusion with the 1999 David Spade comedy. TV Show Note: Producer Brian Robbins and screenwriter Dan Schneider both costarred in the TV series, Head of the Class. Robbins and Schneider worked together last on Good Burger.

Doors Open for NLTV's 'Knox'
"Hard Knox," a new syndicated action hour featuring Lee Majors,
appears set for a fall debut after picking up key clearances in New
York, Los Angeles and Chicago to bring the New Line Television
weekly's national clearance level to 84%. The show has been cleared
on WCBS in New York, KCAL in Los Angeles and Chicago's WGN, New Line
Television executive vp David Spiegelman said Thursday. The series
follows the life of Niki Knox (Kim-Maree Penn), a beautiful martial
arts expert and investigative agency owner. Knox hires Steve Ford
(Thomas Calabro), a good-looking cop whose reputation for getting the
job done is often overshadowed by the fact that he is constantly in
the line of fire. The series was pitched as a cross
between "Moonlighting" and "Rush Hour." Lee Majors is cast as Knox's
father, owner of the security agency run by his daughter.

Don't forget that tomorrow is our one year anniversary!
As some of you might have previously heard, at one time a Big Valley reunion movie was being talked about. At the moment, Fox seems to be at a stand-still. To let Fox know the movie should be made, Big Valley fans across the Internet have started a campaign. To help out, send a letter to Fox at the address below. If you'd like to help, but don't know exactly what to say, there is a form letter below the address.
20th Century Fox
C/O Business Affairs Office
10201 Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90035
To whom it may concern:
This letter is to let you know that there is a great deal of sentiment out here in viewing-land that a Big Valley reunion tv-movie would be a very good thing. There is a considerable base of Big Valley fans over a wide age-span, both people who watched it in its original broadcast and those who have become fans during syndication over the years. I would like to stress that these fans would not be satisfied with a re-cast of the Barkley characters but would like to have the original actors playing the original Barkley roles. Adding young faces for the next Barkley generation is perfectly understandable and indeed desirable, but those people should be additional to and not replacing the original Big Valley actors in their original roles.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Sincerely,
Your Name
