"In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory." ~Aragorn.
On the last installment of the trilogy: "Joy and sorrow, and hopefully inspiration. I certainly have gotten all of that from this whole process. You also get from this story a very simple thing, and that's taking the idea of mercy seriously. Mercy like that which Frodo shows for Gollum. All different kinds of mercy. Those are qualities that not only make for a good leader but for a good individual and, in a sense, each of us needs to find a way to become the best leader we can of our own self in life."
"What people like Boromir and others initially saw as defects and weakness in Aragorn prove to be his greatest strength. In other words his hesitation, his self-doubt, those really are his strengths because they have to do with compassion, they have to do with him considering whether he has a right to act. I wish the leaders of the most powerful countries these days would have a little bit of that. Unfortunately, they seem to have none of that."
"Gondor! Gondor, between the Mountains and the Sea! West Wind blew there; the light upon the Silver Tree Fell like bright rain in gardens of the Kings of old.
O proud walls! White towers! O winged crown and throne of gold! O Gondor, Gondor! Shall Men behold the Silver Tree, Or West Wind blow again between the Mountains and the Sea?"
Elijah Wood describes Viggo as one of the strangest and most charismatic people he has ever encountered. "When I first met him, we sat down in this real crusty place, the Green Parrot, and I remember not being able to hold a conversation, because I was so intimidated. There is something beautiful and quiet about Viggo, but the more I got to know him, the more I realized how insanely brilliant and crazy he is - how he has this insane wild side... Yeah, he's mental, but in a good way."
