Legolas Greenleaf ~ Orlando
Bloom.
Legolas Greenleaf is a prince of
the Mirkwood Elves. Originally, Orlando Bloom auditioned for the role
of Faramir, but got a call six months later to audition for Legolas. On
getting the role, "It was like winning the lottery! Like having all
your dreams fulfilled! It was
amazing!" On his character, "He has seen the world. He is incredibly experienced in many ways. Mind you, so he should be - after all, he is 2931 years old!" Orlando did most of his own stunts and broke one of his ribs in the process. On his days off, he enjoyed snowboarding, skydiving and bungee jumping. Remarkably, it was not long before taking on the role of Legolas that Orlando broke his back after falling from a three story window. In addition to these injuries, he has also broken both legs, his nose, a finger, wrist, toe and cracked his skull. "I feel like I'm in competition with Evil Knievel."
