"In western lands beneath the Sun the flowers may rise in Spring, the trees may bud, the waters run, the merry finches sing. Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night and swaying beeches bear the Elven-stars as jewels white amid their branching hair. Though here at journey's end I lie in darkness buried deep, beyond all towers strong and high, beyond all mountains steep, above all shadows rides the Sun and Stars for ever dwell: I will not say the Day is done, nor bid the Stars farewell." ~Samwise's Song.
Six years after Elanor's birth, Sam was elected as Mayor of the Shire and Peregrin married Diamond of Long Cleeve. The same year, Aragorn made the Shire a free land that no man was allowed to enter. Sam was re-elected as Mayor, eventually serving for a total of seven consecutive terms before his retirement at the age of 96. Samwise and Rose had 13 children: Elanor, Frodo, Rose, Merry, Pippin, Goldilocks, Hamfast, Daisy, Primrose, Bilbo, Ruby, Robin, and Tolman (Tom). Goldilocks eventually married Pippin's son, Faramir Took. When Rose passed away, Sam rode out from Bag End to the Grey Havens. He was the last of the Ring-bearers to leave Middle-earth and sailed across the sea to Valinor to be reunited with Frodo.
