Never Kill a Boy on the First Date

Synopsis:

Buffy goes out on a first date with a guy named Owen. She tries to maintain a social life and slay, but of course it inevitiably fails. Buffy goes out on a date with Owen while an ancient prophecy about the annointed one, the master's greatest warrior, starts to come true. Giles goes to the mortuary in order to find out if the lead is right, and when he is attacked by vampires, trusty Willow and Xander are there to help. Willow and Xander go to get Buffy while she is on her date with Owen and they mention going to the mortuary. Owen of course being an indoor kinda person who doesn't get out much, loves the idea. Buffy leaves Owen behind in the Bronze and goes to help Giles. As they arrive inside, Owen walks in behind them. Buffy saves Giles and slays the vampire she believes to have been the Annointed One. Of course, he wasn't the Annointed One and meanwhile Buffy doesn't know. She breaks up with Owen.

Editorial:

Xander really admits his feelings about Buffy to Willow and in subtext to Buffy. Xander needs to just ask her out and get it over with. Then we all can move on. In general, I liked this episode.

Great Quotes:

Master Quote: "And one of the brethren shall go out hunting the night before and get himself killed, because he couldn't wait to finish his job before he ate. Oh, wait... that's not written anywhere."
