The Move to UPN
Will Fans Remain Ever Faithful?
Rumours are running rampant and have been all year.  Apparently, they were true.  The fifth season finale of BTVS is not only the 100th episode, but also, the last episode on the WB.
Twentith Century Fox recently announced the decision to move the WB hit to UPN, since they were able to pay the $2.3 million being asked by the company, while the WB could not seem to meet this price.
Rumours also state the SMG said that if BTVS left UPN, she would not carry on the show after her contract ran out.  This is unconfirmed at this time.
But what does this move mean to the fans?
As everyone knows, the UPN is ethinically diverse, which is exactly what the show needs, considering that the black characters in the show were either slayed, (Trick) or done in by a pair of vicious French tips, (Kendra.)  I think the most ethinically diverse episode was 'Incan Mummy Girl.'  But once again...death for Incan Mummy Girl.
Also up on the table, is the fact that the UPN is less censored and gives the writers and actors a lot more freedom.  This was the same reason 'The Hughleys' left (CBS?) for the UPN network.  Which means, if Tara is still around next year, there will be less of a stigma attached to her and Willow's relationship.  By the network, that is.  Some fans don't approve of it to begin with.
During all of this, I have heard nothing of 'Angel.'  It doesn't appear to be moving, but it's weird to keep a Spin-off show on one network, and the original on another.  Especially since it's owned by the same people.
Most importantly, will you, the fans of ATS and BTVS remain faithful to the show, though it will be on another network?  Or will this change things for you?  Please email me, and let me know what you think and it will be posted here, unless otherwise directed.
