There are several Irish genealogy mailing lists. The best are:

Just write "subscribe" in the message text and mail!

Italian Genealogy

There is an E-mail network called "PIE" (Pursuing Italians Electronically) which deals with all matters relating to Italian genealogy, history and culture. Send an E-mail with no subject line to:

pie-request@jsoft.com

Your message should state "subscribe pie".

You can subscribe to the digest version of PIE by sending the message "subscribe pie-digest".

Another on-line group devoted to Italian genealogy, history and culture is the "Comunes of Italy" list run by Laura Johnson and Mike Mangeruca. To subscribe to this group, send an e-mail to::

Put "Subscribe COI" in the subject line and give your name, email address and whether you want standard mode or digest mode.

There's also the ARIA - "Australasians Researching their Italian Ancestry" mailing list, to which you can subscribe by sending a message to:-

that contains the word:-

subscribe

and nothing else.

Jewish Genealogy

If you want to subscribe, to the JEWISHGEN mailing list, send an e-mail message to the list server, at:

listserv@apple.ease.lsoft.com

with the command

sub jewishgen firstname lastname

for example "sub jewishgen John Smith."

Your message will be processed automatically, and it is therefore very important to spell the commands correctly - if you get an error message, it is usually due to a spelling mistake.
