The Hostess Program:

Is a pool of volunteers that any Content Guide can pull from. Sungirl keeps an active list of Host/esses and their email posted for Content Guides to draw on.

The Host/ess Program is for those with less or more sporadic bursts of available time than Content Guides (CG). The Hosts and Hostesses are responsible for assisting the CGs whenever their help is required. You will be working closely with the Content Guides on fun things that are created for interaction with the resident's to maintain a sense of community! Depending on your talents and expertise you might be asked to: help with contests, search for instances of abuse such as pornography or warez, surf to find good sites for a web ring, cover a chat room, answer questions on a message board and generally lend a hand whenever necessary.

This position will allow you to help with residents homepages, by answering their questions in forums or chats, or in emails they may send you.

Again, the duties you will be given, will depend on you! What you like to do! We want you to have FUN! :)

Overall, the Host/ess Program will require less of your time and dedication. Being a CG requires at least two hours a day. Often times, however, a Host or Hostess will step up to fill a CG position and the earlier volunteer time has prepared them for the added responsibilities of becoming a CG. Host/ess is a viable option if you have limited time to help, do not like to take control of situations, have school obligations or work obligations that force you to take extended periods of leave. Please check your options out thoroughly before deciding. Be sure the decision is right for you.
